The Past

{Yu's P.O.V}

"Wow, never thought you'd return so quickly. I thought maybe you had actually ran away." A voice says raspyly, I start to smell smoke as the wind starts blowing.

"Dani, smoking is bad for you." I say as I look up at her with tears in my eyes, a smirk appears on her face. She takes a seat beside me, "You should know, I didn't want to leave. The social workers forced me to, I had no choice."

"Blah blah blah, I heard it all before, just come here. Crying makes you look ugly." Dani tells me as she pulls me into her chest, I smile at her and she glares at me, "Don't say anything or I'll end you."

I watch the cloud go by as Dani continue to smoke, she may not seem like it but she's a good friend even though she doesn't consider me one.

"Have you visited them yet?"

"No..I only just got here."

"You should before you get taken away again, it's not long till your uncle and cousin will realize you're missing." Dani explains to me, I just nod halfly spacing out.

"They're better off without me.." I say in almost a whisper, Dani puts her cigarette out on the ground and stomps on it.

"Yu, don't say that.." She says as she holds my shoulders making me face her, I look down at the ground avoiding eye contact, she lets out a heavy sigh, "You should go now before it's too late."

"I know..it's hard to believe you're so responsible for being on the streets you're whole life." I comment, Dani stares at me and a smile spreads across her face.

"Well, some people you meet change you." She says before walking away into the thick fog. I get off the ground and head into the hospital where my parents lay dormant in a coma.

I watch them sleeping peacefully, "Please come back, I miss you...I need you guys." I take a seat beside their bed, a nurse walks in and looks at me surprised.

"Don't worry, I won't let them know you're here." She says as she quickly writes down stuff and leaves the room. I put my head on my hand and decide to take a nap; it's been really difficult lately..I need a break.
