The End of The Beginning

{Yu's P.O.V}

I hop off of the bus looking onward to the hospital. I take slow and steady steps towards the entrance. There's no sign of the club which is quite strange considering the situation she was in when I left. I talk to the receptionist and she allows me to head back to Haruhi's room. In my surprise she's awake.

"Yu! I've been so worried! I'm so glad you're back! The others told me what happened I've cut the chains with me and Tamaki. So there's no need to worry anymore. Everything is fine." Haruhi exclaims while smiling, I look into her eyes and I can tell that she lost a part of herself.

"Haruhi, we both know you don't know me as much as you want to. So I guess this is a good place to start. It was about a year ago. My brother and I were having a cooking contest since we were celebrating."

Flashback

"Man, you two are such children getting so worked up." Dani says as she puts her back up against the wall."

We both ignored her and focused on her cooking. I froze I realized that I needed more oil, I ran into the pantry and quickly ran out forgetting about the broken floorboard. I tripped falling towards the stove where my pan lied. I was pushed out of the way and pulled into Dani.

I looked up and saw my brother burning–covered in flames. When he pushed me I still had the oil and it flew everywhere. Dani tried to get me to move as my parents rushed into the room seeing the most horrible sight that I witnessed.

They were both crying so loudly, nothing could except my mouth. I just sat there wishing it were all a dream. My mom couldn't move her legs as my father urged her to. Dani jumped into actions as the kitchen caught on fire. She moved everyone out only to be trapped inside. The last thing I saw was her smiling.

I came to my senses and flames were engulfing the house. We ran through the living room only to be blocked by part of the ceiling which had fallen. In my mind I told myself it was the end but my parents had other thoughts.

"Come on, sweetie." My Dad lowers down and gets on his hands and knees. I shake my head in denial as tears fall down my face.

"I can't! This is my fault in the first place, I don't deserve to leave this unharmed. I'm not going anywhere." I argued with him, mother came and hugged me as she smiled, "Mom, at least...you go first...please..."

"Then what kind of mother would I be? As parents we put the our children before ourselves. If I step out now and if something were to happen to you. I could never forgive myself." She says in such a calm and comforting tone despite our situation, "You're probably thinking about what if you stepped out and something happened to us. Your father and I will at least have each other as well as Dani and your brother. Please go and always know we love you so much and none of this is your fault."

With those words I jumped over my father to the entrance of our house I open the door and yell at them that I made it but as soon as I turned around the house was collapsing and firefighters, ambulances, and the police were arriving. I fell to the ground. I felt nothing, I said nothing, I was nothing.

End Of Flashback

"Yu, that's horrible. I-I don't know what to say..except that I'm sorry for your losses." Haru said with a sad and surprised expression on her face.
