Past lover (A Nalu Fanfic)

Brother

We make our way to the airport to wait for Loke to arrive. In my hands I have a small box with a picture of us when we were little, it was the picture our father took before Loke left to live in Spain with aunt Lyra, in the box there is also a necklace with his zodiac sign on it, it was a gift from mom before she died. Loke forgot it before he left and when we went to visit him we would always forget to bring it with us to give it to him. I put the box in my purse and I take out a large sheet of paper to write his name.

I hold on to the sign with the name Loke Lion H. on it. We waited for him for about 10 minutes, when he saw us he ran to us and hugged us, he lifted me up and kissed my cheek while hugging me and saying "I missed you so much Lucy." He put me down and hugged dad again. "Loke calm down." I reach into my purse and take out the box, he takes it and opens it, he sees the necklace and begins to tear up, "Lucy, you kept it. Aw baby sister come here." He hugs me once again, "Loke you're just 5 minutes older, it's not that much of a difference, and yes I kept it, it reminded me of you."

We get home and Loke goes upstairs to unpack. When it's time for dinner Loke comes back with a small box, he gives me the box and tells me to open it. "I know you liked mom's ring, she lost it a few months before the accident and I had a picture of her wearing it so I went to get one made in Spain, I hope you like it." I open the box and see and exact replica of the ring my mother had before the crash, he bought it for me. I look at him with tears in my eyes and hug him, he hugs me back and we go get dinner.

The next day we go to Fairy Tail and get Loke registered, he uses his middle name as a last name, like me he didn't want to be known as a Heartfilia, Erza and the teachers are the only ones that know our last name.

It's my second day here and I still don't know many people. I make my way to my science class, I enter the room and as I do I hear an explosion. I stare at the raven haired boy that stands next to a guy with long black hair and multiple piercings on his face. They both have a beacon in their hands and there is a larger beacon on the table in front of them.

"GAJEEL, GRAY WHAT DO YOU THINK YOU'RE DOING?" I turn around and see Erza standing by the door, "Excuse me Lucy," she walks past me and she grabs both boys by the ear, "Detention after school. If you aren't here I will go look for you." They boys begin to nod as sweat falls from their faces. Pissing off Erza will be something I must avoid, I should probably warn Loke about that too.

"Who's that?" the guy with raven hair points at me and Erza just smacks him on the head. "Maybe If you both didn't skip your classes you would know Lucy is a new student here."

"I didn't skip yesterday. I fell asleep in the library." The guy with the long hair said as he picked up the beacons and set them at the side. The raven haired guy just smirked, "He was with Levy. She helps out Ms. Vermillion this period."

"Shut it popsicle. You were at the pool stalking my cousin while she was at practice." They were about to begin fighting when Erza hit their heads together. "Just tell them how you feel and get to your classes. Lucy this is Gray," she pointed towards the guy with the raven hair, "And this is Gajeel," she pointed towards the guy with the long black hair. "Guys this is Lucy Ashley."

"So this is Lucy, Natsu won't shut up about you." He put his arm over my shoulders, "He says you're really nice. You should come eat lunch with us later. Yesterday Erza gave you a tour of the school during lunch so I'm guessing you don't really know anyone." He was right yesterday Erza showed me around the school, I didn't really talk to anyone in class either.

"Sure, I guess it wouldn't hurt to make some friends." He smiled and went to his seat, Gajeel took a seat in the table in front of Gray's seat and the teacher walked in, I was so involved in our conversation I didn't notice the other students come into the classroom. "Where did you sit yesterday Lucy?" Gray asked as Erza left the classroom to go to a student council meeting. "I sat in the back with Erza."

"She left so why don't you sit here. I'll tell you some more about our friends." I sat next to Gray and began working. Towards the end of class our teacher had to leave, so he gave us the last 20 minutes of class to ourselves. In that time, I began talking to Gray and Gajeel. Turns out Gray had a crush on Gajeel's cousin, Juvia. She had a crush on him her freshman and sophomore year of high school, he rejected her because she was always clinging onto him and he found it annoying. Soon enough when she stopped following him and began ignoring him towards the end of last year, he began to miss having her there with him. when he found out Juvia had been in the swim team since freshman year he began going to the pool whenever they had practice, Juvia would be swimming and he would be there cheering for her, he would find out from the guys on the team when the meets were and he would go watch them swim with Gajeel.

Gajeel on the other hand liked one of Juvia's friend, Levy. A girl who loved writing and reading, he got detention during his freshman year and had to help clean the library as a punishment. When he got there he saw Levy helping out Ms. Vermillion organize the library. He helped her and they began talking, after that Gajeel would go to the library every day during lunch to ask Ms. Vermillion if she needed help organizing after school, "Levy is already helping me, if you would like to come help us so we can finish faster that would be wonderful." She would say the first couple times he asked. One day she just began telling him "See you after school Gajeel." She knew exactly why Gajeel kept coming back to help and she didn't mind it. Gajeel and Levy began hanging out more the year after that. They ate lunch together with Juvia, Natsu and the other.
