The Time Goes On, Even When People Don't

       Harry walked to Gryffindor as more students rushed past, heading to Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravenclaw. "Harry" said Draco "Follow me, it's big... it changes... everything.". Harry knitted his eyebrows together as he followed his friend. "Draco?" asked Harry "What's going on?" Harry was worried and the anxious way his eyes darted around showed it. Unlike his usual behavior he was always hiding his fear, "Dumbledore, he switched ours and Hermiones house, we, were together, but shes in... Ravenclaw." said Draco, Harry didn't look any less confused, even though he had always thought she should end up in Rowena Ravenclaws house. "Where are we?" Harry half asked-half said. "You'll see. I can't say it. Not yet." said Draco. Harry winced "Oh no, please" he said, knowing the choice.  

      "Hello Harry." said the professor. Snape and McGonagall were in the room with them. "Hello Harry, how are you?" said Professor McGonagall. "Fine." he muttered and the professor's nodded. "Well, Harry. You are now a Slytherin, it will protect you from the dementors." said the head master.  Harry allowed his mouth to drop. "I'm not a slytherin. I'm not." said Harry. Draco looked sympathetically at him "The sorting hat said you were, Harry. You are, just not in the way you think. Not all Slytherins are bad." he said. Harry shook his head.

"Draco, your wrong." said Harry, he was steadfast. He would never be Slytherin, without a fight.

"Please, Harry listen to Draco. Come on, you have no choice. You need to listen and just follow along, it's for your own good." Said Professor Snape. Shaking her head, professor McGonagall told Harry- "It's ok Harry, Snape really is only doing it for you, to be quite frank he doesn't want you in his house. I will miss you in Gryffindor, but I'd rather you be alive and Slytherin, than dead and Gryffindor.".

"I won't die, don't make me become Slytherin, please." begged Harry. Draco nodded "You have to, but so do I. We both have to Harry, at least we will be in the same house." Draco was trying to reassure Harry, but only got grunts in return. Dumbledore smiled "Harry, even if you refuse, Hermione already accepted hers, shes a full blood Ravenclaw at heart, I just told the sorting hat I wanted you two in the same house, but uhm... Draco you were supposed to be Slytherin in the first place, you... surprised me." said the Headmaster. Hagrid came running in. "Dumbledore!" he cried out, bounding into the room. "Rebeus?" said Dumbledore, his eyebrows pulled together "What is it?". Hagrid was panting and tears were starting to stream down his face "A student, he's suffered the dementor's kiss." Hagrid managed to spit out. The headmaster nodded "I will review this, we will have to take more precautions than previously.". Hagrid, still panting, walked out. Harry felt his eyes go wide, 'What If It happens to me.." he thought. "I'll be Slytherin, only until we have to change it, only.. only until its necessary. Once this Mr. Black is caught and returned to his cell, I'm Gryffindor once more." said Harry, Draco smiled, triumphant. 

      Dumbledore led them to the Slytherin commons, calling Laura to meet them. "What is it?" she asked Harry.  Harry glanced towards her, but only turned back to the dungeon. "I don't know, Laura. I don't understand what all is going on at this point." He told her, questioning his own motives. Draco nodded and walked out, taking the hint he wasn't needed. Dumbledore rested his hand on Laura's shoulder "Stay with the Slytherins for a few days, while Harry get's used to this. I'm not asking you to change house's, but just stay. Help him Laura Potter." said Dumbledore. He quickly walked out, leaving Laura with a dropped jaw. "A potter? A Slytherin?" she said, shocked. Harry nodded and let her circle him. "Listen, Laura." he started, only to see her hand shoot up and stop him. "I know, it's ok. Your sorry. I know." she said, reaching out and taking his hand. "Are you ok?" she asked him. He nodded and led her inside the Slytherin dormitory.

          "Hey Harry-" said Draco, lightly nodding to Laura "-What's up?". Harry, still shocked just closed his eyes and whispered "I'm just a bit concerned.". Draco smiled at him, the green logo on his robe catching Harry's eye. "Already in uniform?" he asked him. Draco let his smile drop and sighed. "Yeah, I am. Severus told me to tell you that he expects you in class tomorrow, and uhm, never to be alone." said Draco, his face now fallen. With an airy laugh Luna Lovegood entered the room. "Hello Harry." she said "How are you?". Harry smiled and put on an act. "I'm fine Luna, you?" he said. "Just as well, Harry, anyhow i'm slytherin for the time being, I get to hang out with you all the time!" she said to him, his face falling into the most shocked expression. She giggled "It's ok. I am always really a Ravenclaw, much like your always a Slytherin, but on your personality a Gryffindor." she said, he just swallowed and nodded. "Great Luna. Are you going to be attending all my classes?" he asked her and she vigorously nodded. "It'll be fun?" she asked him and he nodded, not meaning it. She told him she was going to take a shower and to stay safe, he just shook his head and she left. "Ok then" said Draco "It's ok, it'll be ok.". Although Draco directed the words to Harry, it seemed like he was convincing himself rather than Harry.
