                                Chapter 4

Ben fell back against the couch pulling Rey down beside him. Ben turned to face Rey making sure she was ok before anything else.

"Rey are you ok?" Ben says checking for wounds. She remains silent. "Rey say something please. I need to know if you're ok?"

Rey whips her head towards him. "What the hell was that?" She yells at him. "Come on I deserve an explanation don't I!"

"T-that was one of the men who have been coming after me. I swear Rey if I knew you were going to be dragged into this I would have never asked!" Ben says throwing his hands up. "I'm just going to leave. It's been one day and you already could have gotten hurt."

As Ben got up to leave Rey grabbed his wrist. "Like hell if you're going anywhere. If that's what's out there then your not leaving," Rey stated standing up.

"Rey I don't..."

"Shut up and listen will you? I've been dealing with that kind of crap all my life. I've 'disappeared' more times than I can remember. Ben if anyone know what you're going though it's me," Rey say staring Ben in the eye. "Tomorrow you can apply for a job at the bakery. You'll need to change your appearance too. And I'm guessing Ben Solo is you're real name as so far you have no idea how to go into hiding." Ben nods. "You've got a lot to learn rookie."

"You've got the job kid," the blond-headed woman says. "Rey can help you with everything you'll need." Ben thanks the woman and walks to the back to find Rey.

"So did you get the job?" Rey says will flipping the pancakes she was making.

"Would I be back here if I didn't?" Ben says smirking at at Rey.

Rey rolls her eyes and throws a notebook at Ben. "Go take orders."

Ben walked off and began taking orders. Ben walks over to a large man to take his order.

"Hello sir can I take your order," Ben says walking up to the man.

"No no no I'm looking for a girl named Rey. Does she work here." The man says in a deep voice.

"Hold on a minute," Ben says suspiciously. Ben walks to the back and grabs Rey.

"What the..." Rey starts.

"That man out there wants to see you, do you know him," Ben whispers.

Rey looks out towards the man and her eyes grow wide. "T-thats Unkar. I thought I got away from him. Ben if he's found me I'm done for."

"Hey we had a deal did we not and I plan on keeping that deal," Ben says putting a hand on Rey's shoulder.

"Thanks. Just tell him I quit a few weeks ago and moved," Rey says with a small smile.

Ben walks back out toward the man. "She quit last week and moved out of town."

"Well then. I'll have a coffee," Unkar says.

Rey sits in the back hugging her knees. Ben walks in and sits down next to her.

"Is he gone yet?" Rey asks looking over at Ben. He shakes his head. "Why don't you go home. I'll be there later. Or maybe I'll just stay here over night."

"No I'm not just going to leave you here," Ben says shaking his head.

"Why do you care so much about me? We've only known each other for two days." Rey asks.

"Rey we have a deal. A promise. I'm going to keep my promise as long as I can," Ben says.

"Thanks," Rey whispers.

"Why don't we go out through the back. He won't see us and I'll be there," Ben offers.

"Yeah. That could work," Rey says perking up.

They stand up and make their way to the back door. Ben opens her door and makes sure one was out there. They step out and head towards the sidewalk.

Ben hummed a song as he walked towards the apartment. "Hey Rey do you have..." Ben says turning around. Rey wasn't there.

"Rey?" Ben called out. There was no reply. "Rey! Where are you? Rey!" Panic started setting in.

Ben ran down the sidewalk yelling Rey's name. He turned down alleys searching every corner. Suddenly he heard a night pitch yelp. He ran towards the sound. As he got closer he heard sobbing and pleading. Ben turn a corner and saw eye pushed up against a wall by the man named Unkar. 

Ben ran up to the man brandishing a knife in his hand. "Let her go now," Ben growled. The man laughed. He let go of Rey who immediately fell or the ground.

"Come at me boy," Unkar chuckles. Ben runs at the man sliding down trying to take out his legs. Unkar quickly moves out of the way. Ben jumps up. Ben throws the knife at Unkar hitting him in the leg. Ben kicks him back hitting Unkar's head on the wall. He fell toward passed out.

Ben runs over to a sobbing Rey. He picks her up and holds her in his arms. "Come on let's go home."
