More than a Rebel

Chapter 21

It has been a whole month since I felt I have found purpose in life again. I was accepted as main vocalist in the singing program I have no idea how but Im very thankful for it. I also haven't really talked to the boys much, other than the regular 'hellos' and sparing a few glances at each other. Some times I would talk to Adrian and we would talk about normal things but would never go into relationship stuff. Same goes with Julian.

My cousin Keyla has been with her boyfriend Jaden for almost two months now, And they are so happy together, sometimes I wish my love life was as easy as theirs, but I don't envy them at all, I wish them the best forever.

So the school is throwing a "practice party"  for the Christmas party on december and everyone is very enthusiastic about it, even me, suprisingly. I have become very active in almost every program in the school, if not in it, then helping. As of right now I'm hanging some decorations at the schools gym with a bunch of other students.

"Hey Val, what are you thinking about?"

I jump at the suddeness of Keylas question thrown at me.

"My God Keyla, jezz don't startle me like that"

Keyla  giggles at my response and answers:

"Sorry cuzz, whats on your mind? Are you thinking about the boys?"

"I-I What?!, of course not..... Well.... maybe a little but its just because of all the excitement in the air and..... That's the one part of my life I can't seem to figure out" I say pouting my bottom lip

"I'm very sorry Val, I don't know how to help you with that...."

"Hey, Its ok Keyla, its not ur job to do so eather" I answer putting my hand on her shoulder to reassure her.

Ramdom Student: "Keyla, could you please help us on the ticket table"

"Coming, Sorry Val, gotta run"

"Sure K" I smile as I watch my cousin walk away.

"Hey" I find myself jump once again when I hear the voice say from my left side.

"Holy! Oh.... Hey Adrian.... How is it going?" I say to him with a friendly smile.

"I'm doing good thanks for asking how about yourself?" Adrian asks me smiling back at me.

"I'm doing alright, you know.... the usual.... always keeping myself busy..."

"Listen Val... We havent really had a real conversation and I.... I want you to know that I appreciate you very much, you were my first girlfriend and deep inside, I will always have some kind of love for you" He says all of this Smiling at me genuely.

"Adrian, I will always love you too, and, I really don't want us to keep on being awkward towards each other anymore, Before we became a thing, we were friends and it was beautiful" I say to him and when I'm about to continue my speech he starts talking again not letting me finish.

"I know Valentina, and you have always been honest with me so I think I owe you honesty as well, this is the reason why I wanted to tell you something"

"Ok..... Tel me what?" I stare at him as if urging him to go on.

"Well all this time we haven't talked, I was very sad and mad and just... took wrong decitions and I'm sorry, but umm..... U know.... I got to meet Angela a bit more.... Before, I used to dislike her very much and got tyred of her thirst for revenge, but then we started getting to know each other and I notice she is really not that bad, she has had a bunch of things happen to her in life and being fake and getting revenge was her way to get back at life..... Its weird but U know... everyone is different and..."
