Chapter 8 - Brave & Strong

"Follow me let me take you somewhere!" Xabi said excitedly. Jay creeped behind Xabi scared that he might end up becoming trapped in this labrynth of a cave that seemed like it never ended.
"Neesha?" Xabi shouted frantically hoping she was safe in the cave. "Xabi!" Cheered Neesha. Instantly Xabi paced round the cave with Jay close behind. They turn a sharp corner and Jay saw a frilly skirt he knew who that was. Jay walked in with his head down to hide the tears because he felt awful. "JAY" Estelle burst into tears moments later as the hugged each other close. From the corner Xabi was looking over jealous that Estelle had just hugged Jay. "Well he has his heart set on her not me. Why did I think he would pick me anyw-"Xabi froze and felt warm inside as Jay came running over and held him close. "Thankyou Xabi" Jay whispered to his new found friend. All four of them walked along the stone cold floor and Xabi showed them the way out of the cave with a glimmer in his eye , he couldnt hold it in any longer now so Xabi just burst out crying. He had only just got to know Jay and now he is leaving. "Estelle they have to come with us on this journey please. Please Estelle" begged Jay. "We have to keep moving." Estelle said confidently, she glared at him and looked on at the land infront of them both.

"Xabi, Neesha come with us you cant be stuck in that confined space all lonely. Journey with us and our friendships will get closer and closer." Jay sniffled. The twins looked at each other smiling away "Thankyou so much you honestly wont regret it. We are always here for you and do anything to repay you" they chimed eagerly. "Theres no need for that, you have repaid us enough with helping me and Estelle find each other again, so are we setting off?" Jay laughed. As the four of them walked into the beaming morning sunshine all stood side by side. Ready for anything. Strong , brave & bold. Neesha signalled to Estelle something was wrong so she collered her over and whispered "Look. Twizzle round Estelle and just stare up!" Neesha worriedly and frantically jumped up and down holding her scream in. "Oh no. Why? Neesha why is there a big ash cloud." Estelle also panicked, and tried to keep a straight face so she wouldnt frighten Xabi or Jay. "Ummm Estelle whats that rumbling sound? I can hear it and its really annoyi-"Jay was speechless "We need to move and fast!"

As the 4 of them raced towards the shore Jay heard a thud and turned round to see Estelle on the floor with her leg wrapped around a thistle hanging out of the ground yet very well disguised. "ESTELLE! IM COMING!" Jay sprinted and as quick as possible tried to unravel the twisted thistle but it was too tangled. "Jay catch!" Xabi shouted throwing a pointed pebble at Jay. He hit the thistle once and it came undone, Estelle clambered up her body and clothes full of mud and dirt. She squeezed Jay's hand as she stood up and he pulled her close and said "Estelle I will never let that happen again" Jay winked at her and she giggled and Xabi giggled too even though he was looking at Estelle. Xabi couldnt help but notice how fast the storm was a approaching and decided they were going to have to find a secure shelter for the night somewhere hidden and stable enough for winds and lightning. "Right, I can see a mound over there maybe we could hideout in there for the night." Xabi exclaimed excitedly racing over eager to get inside.

When they were all packed in the shelter they started a camfire in the middle of their own little room. Estelle had dried up mud all over her whilst Neesha was spotless! Now the storm was right over them and it was worse than any other. Jay looked up to see Xabi's and Estelles eyes slowly shutting followed by Neesha but Jay couldnt sleep he had a feeling something wasnt right and it was stuck in his mind. Lingering on and on forcing himself to stay awake as if something important was about to happen and just then a struck of lightning woke the rest of the group up. It had passed over them but now they had the aftermath like wind and rain at top speeds. Xabi suggested if they set off now by the time theyre back at shore they will beat the wind and rain in no time. Right then Neesha spotted something in a north direction it looked to be a boat washed to see with no one on it. Not a huge boat but not to small either. They ran and ran then jumped into the boat whilst Xabi and Jay pushed it down the little runway.

As the boat started bobbing on the choppy sea a cloud of fog as thick as wool was over them meaning they couldnt really see that well. Xabi noticed a flashing light in the distance while Jay got excited and ran to see. Eagerly he searched for anything he recognised but unfortunately it was way too foggy for that. Jay stood still and started having another vision. "Jay, Jay dont leave me!" The voice said. "Ahhhh! My son...how can we help!" His mum screamed after. "Oh no look at that boy he is drifting away!" A posh lady said. CLICK.CLICK. "Hello Jay?" Estelle was clicking her fingers seeing if Jay would reply or move. He stood up and got punched by Estelle who was still clicking her fingers "oops sorry Jay!" Estelle laughed she couldnt help herself soon enough the whole boat was laughing. The light in the distance was flickering and then Jay noticed it was just a farmer burning down some old wood. Inside his heart sank he thought he had finally found his home again.

The boat went on.
