Chapter Two: Tobias

"Seth, you still haven't told me how I ended up here" I looked at Seth and then back to ocean.

Leah,Seth and I sat on top of one of the tower that over looked the ocean. Since Leah was the princess, she had special access to parts of the castle normally only her parents would be aloud.

"And you never told me how you got your wing tore up" Seth said not taking his eyes of the white waves.

I did eventually want to tell them how I managed to tear up my wing. But at the time I didn't want to tell them that when I escaped,I nearly died. That is my main problem. I don't like telling other that I got hurt or nearly died or I watched my father die. I don't like other feeling sorry for me. It was how my father raised me. Without sympathy.

"Alright," I looked at Seth, his icy-blue eyes stared into mine. "I'll start when I first got into the prison. My father and I were taking a flight one day and we didn't know we were being watched. Soon after we were arrested. I never found out why. They said we were devilish,I know that's not the reason they arrested us. My father was only alive year after the arrest. Me,I survived for four years, everyday being haunted by my father's death scream. That's how I got the name,'The Siren.' His scream sounded like a siren. Throughout those four years I made an escape plan. It was simple,on the third full moon of the fourth year I would escape. Why that day? It was the day my father died,it was my way of avenging him and I did. I broke free of my cell and ran for my life. When I was almost out a guard jumped on my back, cutting the rope that held my wings in place. But he also cut my wing. There was a hole in the wall that lead to the cliff. I jumped and I guess I floated here."

Seth and Leah both looked at me in shock. I know that they didn't believe me,even I wouldn't believe me either. But they did. I looked at Seth and raised an eyebrow. He back looked at me,then he shook his head knocking fur in his face.

"Go on,tell me." I said poking Seth in the ribs with my tail.

"Fine, fine, fine. I'll tell you. So me and a buddy of mine where just getting done hunting and decided to walk in the ocean. It had been about a month since we had done so. There was something floating in the ocean, knowing him,he dove in. When he came back, you were draped over his back. We still don't know how,but you lived."

"Who is your friend?" That was one of the only parts of story he left out, that and who fixed my wing.

"He doesn't like it when someone introduces him when he's not around." Leah said "Come on,he should be in the training facility."

-----------------------------------------

Have I ever mentioned how huge the castle was? I didn't,well it's huge. Four kitchens, thirty bed rooms, two blacksmiths, infirmary, acres of hunting grounds. How ever I put it,it's still freaking huge. And there's only like ten cats who live here who don't work for the king and queen. Anyway, back to the story.

----------------------------------------

There was only one part of the castle that Leah and Seth left out,the training facility which they call 'The Arena.' It was the only area of the castle were paw to paw combat was allow and taught.

When we entered there was targets set up,half of them with knifes stuck in them. In the entire arena there was only one cat. He was holding three throwing knifes with his tail. I stood still and watched him throw the knifes. They all sunk in to the wooden target. The mountain lion walked over to the where the knifes were stuck and in one swift motion pulled them out, sending flying into a second target. He looked up and saw us.

"Seth, what are you doing here with...with women? This is no place for the princess." He said looking toward Seth and Leah. then he turned to me. "Who is this?"

"I'm Tris" My voice squeaked. Why does it always squeak when I first speak to a guy,it was like that for Seth and now this mountain lion.

"Tobias. I'm the battle training instructor. And the same cat who pulled your half dead body out of the water. " He said as he put out his paw for me to shake. I did.

Leah poked me with her tail, the night was dark and I promised her that in the morning we would go out to the woods. I would learn how to hunt, again.

I turned around, only to see that me and Leah were alone in The Arena. The boys had left us. I followed Leah out the entrance and up to my room. As I laid down on my bed I had one thought before I fell into a deep sleep. 'So that's who saved me,Tobias.'
