Chapter Three: Them

In the morning,I woke up to a Bengal tiger with her face six inches away from mine. Lord only knows how long Leah was there staring at me.

"Good morning!" Leah said as she jumped feet in the air. "You ready, huh, huh, huh, you ready, you ready?"

Was she trying to be annoying, maybe she was only excited. I was the only other girl her age that has ever been here. Fifteen years and she didn't have anyone her age that was a girl to talk to. I know how that feels. Being the only child and then being thrown in jail for three years. I've never really had anyone. Only my father.

"Good morning,Leah." I said groggily as I climbed out of bed. "So,time for you to show me how the royals hunt."

"Actually," Leah said as if she was hiding something. "I thought we could go down to the library instead of hunting. We can still hunt if you want, but the library is in my opinion, the best place in the castle. It's huge, there's maybe a thousand, two thousand books. I've read probably a few hundred, but that doesn't matter. I want you to read some of the myths about the kingdom. They're...they're freaky. It's almost like...like one of them is present..." Her voice trailed off.

What or who was them. I shook my head to clear myself of the thought something paranormal in the castle. It was only a myth. Right?

" Ze library? Really?" I laughed,I thought that the princess would have perfect grammar.

"The,ze. Same thing. Come on,leggo." Leah said as she dashed out the door and bolted down the hall. Seeming not to be phased by the thought of them, who ever they are.

-------------------------------

The library was truly huge. Books lined the shelves on the walls and in the isles. We seemed to be the only ones in the library, but I suppose I was wrong. I heard books fall from one of the oak shelves and saw a white and blackened striped tail flick. I found Seth rubbing his head after a book landed on it. Apparently,he had been curled up with a few Kindgom of the Spriggan mythology books.

'Elemental Summoner' I pulled the book off the pile that Seth had been reading. The book had a picture of a purple gem on the front of the leather cover. I opened is and began to read.

'The beast know as the 'Elemental Summoner' is the demon spawn of fire, ice, earth, and electricity. Only when the beast is wearing the Defusing Crystal, the Summoner has no way to use his powers. The powers he is believed to possesses is the ability of walking on water, holding water in his paws, and summon water, snow, and ice. He's believed to have more powers then most have ever thought. No one has ever know the true form of the Summoner,he has been seen as a red wolf, raven, and most commonly a mountain lion. He is thought to be dangerous and not to be trusted-'

The rest of the page was missing along with the rest of the book. It appeared that someone had pulled all the pages out. They must have been hiding something. I picked the book up to put it on the pile when a page fell to the floor. It was a drawing of a mountain lion wearing a glowing purple gem on a chain. The scar that was over his left eye looked familiar. Too familiar.
