"The Ball!"
~Last time on Eternal Flight~
"Shower and get some rest. The girls and I will look into what we can do to help." Keya said, patting my back before pushing me out of the office.
'I just hope I marry the right person.' I thought, moving towards my room at a slow pace.
~Now~
It's been a week since the attack on my kingdom and three days since my invitations to every single eligible king or prince went out. The ball was tonight and to say I am nervous was an understatement. Tonight is where someone will take my hand and ask me to marry them and I fear that no one will do so. I fear for my friends, kingdom, and myself. If I do not marry, then the kingdom that my great great great...great grandfather created, will fall into ruin and I will no longer be a queen.
"We must get you ready my queen." Aura said, leading me into my bathing chambers.
"I will clean myself. Thank you Aura." I said, quickly going about my own business.
The time went by fast and soon enough it was time for everyone to arrive and the ball to start.
"Are you sure you want to do this Amara?" Syndra asked, walking up behind me.
"It is too late to turn back now and I will not let go of everything we worked so hard for just because of a marriage with no love. I will find my husband tonight, or I will die trying." I said, turning to hug each of my ladies before the announcement came on.
The ball ended with no one taking my hand as I had feared and I decided to clear my head with a stroll through my garden.
"You seem uneasy, my queen." Sehthi said, coming out from behind one of the statues.
"I just wish this were easier. No one will marry me for fear of their kingdom being attacked as well. I do not want to lose my home, family, friends...you." I said, glancing at him, tears glistening in my eyes.
"Perhaps...I can help?"Jazair said, coming out of the door behind me.
"My king." Sehthi said, bowing his head low.
"You heard....yet you wish to help?" I asked, confused.
"I know how much you two care for each other and I have no need for a wedding with no love. However, I am all for a wedding if it means I can help a dear friend in need. I will not expect anything from you Amara, just that you two try and hide your relationship. Sehthi is like a brother to me and I will not loose him and I do not wish to see my dear friend homeless and stripped of her royalty, her birthright." Jazair said, coming closer to me.
