Edward's P.O.V

"Edward Cullen?" Nurse Lydia walks out toward the waiting room with a clipboard in her hands. She looks up at me and smiles at me sweetly. "Dr. Benson is ready for you."

I look away from the boring TV news channel and follow Lydia to the changing room, where she hands me a robe and tells me they'll be waiting in the MRI room. I don't know why I insisted so much on coming to my six month check up on my own, I could barely find the right entrance to get here. This place is like a maze. Not to mention the paper work they asked me to fill, I had to call my mother and ask her for my social security number among other things. What am I allergic to? No idea. Apparently nuts. It was humiliating. Of course she was expecting my call and said she would be here as soon as her meeting ended.

I walk in the MRI room where Dr. Benson waits for me with two other nurses, Lydia included. Dr. Benson stands up and shakes my hand firmly. Even when I've known this man for two and a half years, I still find him kind of intimidating considering how tall and muscular he is compared to my smaller version of him.

"How are you feeling, Edward?" He asked with a bright smile. That was the least intimidating thing about him, he knew how to smile.

"Better than ever." I smile back at him. It's the truth, I've been better since the last time we saw each other, however I don't think I'll be good in a couple of minutes. I look at the big machine I'll be put in and back at him. "Is there really no way I can persuade you not to put me in that damn thing?"

Dr. Beson laughs and says, "It'll be over before you know it. Let's go."

I hold back a groan and let him lead me to that goddamn machine. I lay down, trying not to look at him as he injects me with some medicine and leaves the damn needle stuck in my arm. I try not to think about it, that thing could easily break if I just flex my arm. Dr. Benson places the headphones over my head fixes the camera over my nose. The cold metal touches my nose just barely, but it's close enough I can feel my breath hit it and come right back at me. Should have washed my teeth this morning.

"Bonjovi?" He asks from somewhere in the room, but I can't see from where exactly.

Bonjovi?

"What the hell is that?" I ask.

"Unbelievable," he says before the door is closed. "Only one of the greatest musicians of all time." His voice sounds through my headset. "You'll like it."

"Is it loud?"

"I'll make it loud for you," he replies. Just as his voice disappeared, some kind of music started. It was loud enough I couldn't hear the roar of the MRI machine, but I could feel the machine slowly move me inside that small hole. I close my eyes, trying to control my heartbeat as I feel the walls closing all around me. I keep them closed.

"How are you feeling now, Edward?" He asked, interrupting the music.

"You know, screw you!" I said loudly. He laughed before putting the music right back on.

Living on a prayer!

I lose myself in the music. It was really good, I'll have my sister tell more about this Bonjovi thing and ask her if I was a fan. As time goes by, I feel my muscles start to relax and my eyes getting heavier and heavier until I eventually fall into a deep sleep.

I'm laughing as I walk down the large field, completely soaked and sticky from the rain and mud. I keep looking behind me, but I can't see who I'm looking at. A flash of blonde-ish hair hits me on the face as she runs by and I soon find myself running toward the small figure that runs ahead of me. She does not run fast enough because I eventually catch up and wrap my arms around her and turn her around...
