(The Beginnings of an Adventure)

Melissa stared up at the ceiling. She frowned. Where am I? Oh right... Melissa remembered the last day's events. She sighed heavily and swung her legs out of the duvet. She turned to see her sister still fast asleep, Mel reached over and gave her sister a push.

"Hey Lana. Time to get up, we got to figure out what to do."

"Wha...? Oh, ugh." Lana sat up, eyes half closed.

Melissa hurried to the bathroom. "Dibs on the bathroom!" she called.

Lana rubbed her eyes tiredly. "Fine." She called. She got up, to find that their clothes they wore yesterday we clean and folded on a shelf.

Melissa re-appeared at the bathroom doorway. Her face and arms were freshly washed and her hair combed neatly back. She spotted the clothes.

"Oh." She quickly grabbed a stack of the clean, fresh clothes and hurried back into the bathroom to get changed. She came out with her nightgown and laid them neatly onto the bed. Lana went in and came back out soon, with the dress they had worn the day before.

"Ugh, I still hate this dress. They're so hard walk in, and I still can't believe we rode in them." Lana sighed, sitting on the bed. "Should we go downstairs and see what Merek is doing?"

"Yeah, sure. I just hope we aren't barging in..." murmured Melissa worriedly. "Hmm. I wonder what non-royals have for breakfast."

"Me too." muttered Lana.

Both girls hurried out of their room and into the kitchen.

"Where is Merek?" whispered Melissa.

"I don't know, maybe in the sitting room?" Lana walked out of the kitchen, into the sitting room. Merek wasn't found there either. "Did we get up too early?"

"Uhh. Maybe? Is it okay with we get breakfast for ourselves...? Talking about breakfast, how about we go check up on Orion and Loreena?" asked Melissa, suddenly remembering the pegasi.

"Oh yes! I totally forgot. Jim said the stable was right down the road, so let's just take a small walk. It will be good for us. We can see about breakfast when we get back, I suppose." Lana opened the front door, breathing in the fresh air.

Melissa nodded eagerly. "I also want to get a good glimpse of this town. It looks nice." commented Melissa. She closed the front door behind her and softly walked down the path.

"Which way first? I say left." Lana leaned down, trying to get a better glimpse of the road that led to the left.

Melissa shrugged. "Sure, left it is!"

Both girls turned onto the left road and started to walk down the street.

"Do you think this is the correct way or did we pick a wrong one?" Melissa asked.

"If it is the wrong way, then this is an adventure and we can explore more of this village. replied Lana. The twins walked a couple more minutes, to find that they couldn't find the stable. They turned around, and went the other direction. After 5 minutes, the girls saw a small brown barn. It had a sign that marked, 'Marbled Stable".

"I guess this is the place?" asked Melissa, peering into the stable. "It has a nice name. Much better than simply 'Royal Stables'."

"So better. There's a door over there, let's see who's inside." Lana pointed to the right of the stable. They walked over and pushed the door open. Inside was a counter lining the wall, behind stood a small man. He was short with black hair.
