I Run over a Brit (Accidentally, of Course!)

Annabeth laughed. "Seaweed Brain, your brain is waterlogged. Not even your dad would eat a sardine-topped pizza!" We chuckled, looking over the Thames River. Annabeth and I were taking an all-expenses-paid vacation to England, courtesy of the University of New Rome. It was a good deal, too, even though we had to write an eight-page essay on the history of Buckingham Palace.
I wonder what Tyson would say about this view... I thought absentmindedly, remembering my cyclops half-brother. He'd probably ask if the fish could eat peanut butter. I laughed at this thought, causing Annabeth to look at me weird. Then again, she always looked at me weird.

"What?" she demanded.
"Just thinking of Tyson. And peanut butter. And--" My awesome girlfriend interrupted me with a kiss, and I felt myself melt into her arms. She always made me feel that way.

Speaking of feelings... I patted my coat pocket, making sure the box was still there...

I was driving to the hotel in the rental car, Annabeth yelling at me to stay on the right side of the road. "No, idiot, not the literal right side! We're in England! Augh!" she cried as we went down the highway. I grunted in reply. "Sorry Annabeth! But driving in another country is harder than it looks." After righting myself on the road, I chuckled a bit. Faking a British accent, I said, "At least no bobbys were behind us! To them, we're American rubbish!" Despite our close call on the road, Annabeth laughed at me and punched my arm.
"Your head is waterlogged. But leave it to me to fix it."

I was two blocks away from the hotel when some kid wearing circular glasses just popped into existence right in front of me. Before I even had time to react, he was under the car, unconscious.
