TW: Blood and graphic ish description of injury.

WC:1405

I felt Will faint before I saw it. His brain just blanked, oxygen momentarily lacking. It was this that made me catch him in time before he hit the stone floor. Gently I eased him to the floor, being careful of his head. After making sure he had no further injuries I turned my attention back to the man, or Will's father, staring down at Will like a predator watching his prey.

"I don't know what you want from us, or what you think you're doing but I suggest you stop now and tell the truth. I don't care what it is, as long as it is the truth." Just looking at him I felt a surge of anger, and the urge to protect the blonde laying at my feet. I would not let this man touch him.

"Chill, kid. I just want to talk heart to heart with my son. Nothing to worry about, but I'd like you to leave the room for a second. Just for some privacy, you know?"

I didn't want to leave these two alone, but a force pushed me away from Will, towards the door.

The door clicked shut in front of me, and silence engulfed me. The uneasy feeling in my stomach grew.

--

When I heard the bang come from the room I'd left them in, I reacted instantaneously. I concentrated on the door, and it burst open. The sight before me confused me.

Will's father was on the ground and Will stood a few paces away, staring in shock with his hands in front of him, as if he'd used them to push his father to the floor.

Wordlessly I grabbed one of Will's hands and pulled him towards me. "Concentrate on an animal Will imagine being an animal, moving like one, sensing like one."

Thus snapped him out of his daze. I felt a warmth spread through my chest, and my features began to change. My mouth and nose fused together and enlarged to form a beak.

Moments later I was in the air, and saw Will below me, sinking to the floor. I panicked and prepared to swoop down and turn back, when Will disappeared and a Golden Retriever appeared. The dog was sleek and muscular. It seemed oddly like Will, for a dog. The same golden tan, the same startling azure eyes, the same slight freckles of darker skin around his nose and the same shimmer of ever present awareness in his eyes.

It seemed that we thought in sync. As one we headed for the door, I flying above him, protecting him. Behind us sounds were rising.

The screeches of a wild boar. Will's father was a Wild Boar, one of the most dangerous animals in the animal kingdom. His power would have to be immense.

Before I could think about it more, we were soaring through the hallways, I following Will's, who used his hearing and nose to find an exit.

We ran for what felt like hours. Corridor after corridor, door after door. I started losing my sense of time. However, just as I was about to Change to human, Will burst through a door and daylight poured in. We ran across the dead grass that spread out across the valley until we were a good distance away from the castle.

As soon as Will came to a halt below me, I swooped down, and onto his back, softly landing and avoiding using my talons. Then I concentrated on my apartment in London, a backup given to me by the council before they were murdered. I knew it to be closer to our current location than New York.

----

I landed, in human form once more, on the carpet outside my apartment. A Golden Retriever was lying on his side next to me. Something was wrong. Will hadn't changed back whilst we were travelling, which only occurs when said person is too wounded to use energy to change forms.

The information of Will's current health started to seep into my brain. No brain damage, but a wound on his left side, losing a lot of blood. There was some internal bruising, and his left leg was broken.

Wasting no time, I pushed the door of my apartment open and picked up Will in my arms. The carpet was stained with blood, but I was too worried about the blonde in my arms to think about cleaning it up. Will's blood had already stained the entire left side of shirt, and was swiftly seeping into my clothes.

The couch was the closest thing to put Will on and make sure he was comfortable when he woke up. I ripped his shirt away, tearing the fabric and removed it from his body.

His flesh was torn open, as if someone had taken a knife and sliced into him like butter. It wasn't wide, but it ran from just under his armpit to his hipbone. The gash was shallow at the ribs, but in between the ribs and the hipbone it was deeper, almost reaching his kidney. If he lost any more blood, his life would be in danger, even more than it already was.

I focused on the blood flow. I imagined it retreating, going back into his veins, and stopping it from flowing down his sides. The blood flow stopped, and his heartbeat slowed a little. The skin mended together, slowly closing the wound. His heartbeat slowed some more. It was finally coming close to a normal, non-threating heartbeat.

I turned my attention to his leg, mending the bone. It would still be weak for a few days, maybe a week, but it would make Will's general recovery a lot quicker and smoother. A few bandages would suffice to support his bone until it was stronger again.

His internal bruising would have to heal on its own. I couldn't mess with that without endangering him more. It was all I could do for now, except let him rest. I laid him down on the couch and rested his head on one of the pillows. His brain was already showing activity, and he'd slipped from unconsciousness to sleep.

I sat on one of the chair close to the couch, so that Will could have his peace, but I'd still be able to watch him and check on him.

--

"Nico... Where am I? Wh...what happened?" Will's voice cracked, and he coughed softly.

"Ssh Will. We're in my apartment in London. I'll explain later what I think happened. When we teleported something went wrong, and it backfired in the form of physical harm. I'm sorry. I didn't think this would happen. If I had known you'd get hurt, I'd have never told you. I'd never have called you. I wouldn't have gotten you into this mess. But now it's too late, I've dragged you into this. Now, I can't lose you. I admit it, I used you as a replacement for Bianca. I've come to care for you. But when you just laid there, unconscious, bleeding to death slowly, I was ready to... to give up my immortality, save your life, replace it. It cost me more energy than ever to heal and mend your wounds. It took me so long, and still you're not completely healed. I'm sorry. So, so sorry. I should've let you live your life first before trying to dump a prophecy on you and..."

"Nico, you're rambling. I don't care that you used me for comfort. In a sense I did the same thing. Now just shut up and look at me."

I shifted my gaze from the floor to his eyes, only to find him a lot closer to him than previously. And he was leaning in.

I didn't even think before leaning in too, and our lips met.

It was wonderful. For a few seconds the only thing I felt nothing but the buzz of our lips moving. After that however, the comfortable heat started to get uncomfortable. Weird flashes danced across my closed eyelids.

Against my desire I opened my eyes, whilst still kissing Will. I almost broke away when I saw what was happening around us.

Sparks were literally flying. A fireworks of colourful sparks danced across the room. Will broke away from my lips, and looked around the room. The sparks were dying out.

"That... That's how I felt when I did that."
