The next day, Lyle texted me, telling me that me, him, Chuck and Anna should all go see Insidious 2 the following Friday. I, of course, agreed. Why turn down a bucket full of buttery popcorn, sugary pop and a great scary movie? We also decided to walk to Martins after school, which is a supermarket with a coffee shop and it was a popular hang out place. Mostly because it was located across the High School and next door to the Middle School.

The week went by slow and painfully. I was desperate to skip to Friday. Finally, Friday did arrive and the final bell rang, allowing me and my fellow prisoners our freedom for the weekend. Anna and I packed up our stuff and headed to Martins.

We quickly found Lyle and Chuck and sat down with them both. After a few minutes of talking, I got a text from Anna. I looked over at her, but she was gazing out the window. I read the text quickly.

Anna: I think Lyle likes u

Me: no we r just friends

"Who yah texting Katrina?" Lyle asked me. I knew it would be a bad idea to say Anna, seeing as how she was right next to me, so I thought of someone else.

"Um. Adam." I lied with ease. Lyle's face went into a slight frown and he looked away from me for a moment.

Then he questioned, "Are you and Adam dating?" I shook my head no and he instantly perked up. Anna winked at me, and I knew what she was thinking. 'sure he doesn't like you. sure."

After an hour of non stop chit chat, I got another text, but this time it was from my mom.

"I gotta go guys, see yah later!" I waved, and headed towards the door.

Anna's mom had picked me up at my house and Anna and I were absolutely giddy. Mostly because we both love scary movies.

I was also excited to see Lyle again, but I wasn't going to admit that to Anna.

We soon pulled into Celebration, telling each other how scary the trailer was and how we couldn't wait to see the real thing. we bought our tickets, two pops and made our way into the theater.

Lyle and Chuck soon made their way into the theater before the movie began and took their seats. Lyle was to my right, Chuck to his right and Anna at my left. It was right then and there when I realized the space between Lyle and I and lack there of. I could also smell him and lets just say I was taking deep breaths through my nose.

The movie quickly began and the lights dimmed. My heart started pounding. His smell and the warmth I could feel from him was... I can't even describe it. It felt right.

But then, the first jump scare occurred and my hands had minds of their own, clutching what ever was at my right.

Which happened to be Lyle's shoulder.

Embarrassed, I removed my hands and whispered a sorry to him and turned my attention back to the screen. I could see his smirk, even through the darkness.

10ish minutes later, jump scare number 2 had made its appearance. I jumped about a foot in the air, squealed, and once again, grabbed a hold of Lyle. *mental face palm*

This time, however, before I could move away, he placed his hand on top of mine and rubbed it softly and whispered, "It's ok. I've got you. You're fine." Que the warm fuzzy feelings in my gut.

I quickly nodded and waited for him to release my hand, but he didn't. Instead, he pulled my hand closer to him and enveloped his fingers around mine. I felt my face and the tips of my ears growing hot. 'Holy crap. This is happening. Oh gosh, I cannot believe this.'
I thought. I nudged Anna with my elbow and she looked over st the hand holding fest going on next to her and smiled at me.

Another jump scare forced a squeal and another foot jump. Lyle stroked my hand with his thumb, saying, "I got you. You're ok." over and over again.

Anna elbowed me, telling me she had to go to the bathroom and we made our escape. Lyle frowned as he let go of my hand. Anna and I were barely out of the theater before, "HOLY CRAP, WE WERE HOLDING HANDS!! Did you see that? Oh my gosh... He's.... Adorable."

She rolled her eyes, " I told you that you liked him and he liked you. Why don't you ever listen to me? "

I smiled at her and after a few moments of our girl freak out,  which included giggling and squealing, we made our way onto the theater.

We got back in our seats and Lyle held out his hand, leaving it up to me to grab it or not. I felt my face flush and grabbed his hand.

After a while, he had pulled my hand closer to his stomach and had wrapped both of his hand around my right hand. His hands were so warm and smooth... He began tracing circles on my hand and rubbing my thumb softly with his own. I couldn't even think and there were major butterflies fluttering in my stomach.

I blinked as the lights came on overhead and untangled my hand from Lyle's. While we all waited for our parents to pick us up, Lyle pulled me aside to talk.

"That was a great movie." Lyle chuckled.

I nodded, "Yeah. The jump scares were great."

"Um. I really like you... And I want to be more than friends... So, do you want to start dating?" He asked. I could barely hear him. I nodded, feeling lightheaded and I realized I was holding my breath.

He smiled at me and covered my face with his hand and said, "Bless you child."

I looked up at him and asked, "What was that?"

He answered, "A blessing peasant. Take it and be happy."

I laughed, "I'm no peasant. I am a freaking princess..." Our voices drifted through the building as we left the movies.
