Groaning, I hit the off button on my alarm. First day of Junior year. Great. I rolled out of bed, yawning, not really prepared for today. I grabbed a pair of khaki shorts, and a grey v neck, throwing on my black converse. I decided to let my hair down out of the bun I had it in overnight, running my fingers through it a little, it looked wavy, so I left it alone. I grabbed my wallet, and unplugged my phone, walking out of my room. I sighed, knowing my parents were missing yet another 'first day of school' but I knew they didn't care. They probably don't even thunk about me anymore. Most parents would be ecstatic about their daughters first day of Junior year, especially since I didn't think I would make it this far. I checked my phone, wanting to know how early I would be if I left now. I had two texts.

Hey babe, I'll be waiting for you by your locker with your schedule. From: Coach B
Practice tonight, 6-9. Meeting afterwards to discuss captains. Please be on time Taylor.I replied to Brandon, telling him I would be there on time. I grabbed my bookbag and my keys, and walked out of the house. I threw the bag in the back seat and headed off to school. I pulled into the first parking spot I found, which coincidentally ended up being next to my best friend/ex-girlfriend.
"Morning Lex." I said, grabbing my bookbag from the back seat.
"Morning Car." She smiled. "Ready for today?" She asked me.
"Nope, but it's too late to go home now." I stated as I held the door open for her to walk into school.
"I mean not really. There's still a half hour until school even starts, you could leave before people even know you're here." She chuckled.
"Yeah, sure Lex. Lemmie just leave." I turned around.
"No. You're not leaving, I was kidding. I can't start Junior year without my best friend." Alexis said.
"I gotta go meet up with Chlo. I'll see you later." I told her and turned down the hall, walking towards my locker.
"Morning babe." I said, taking my schedule from her. "Thanks."
"Did you get Brandon's text this morning?" Chloe asked, looking at her phone.
"Yeah, I'll probably be late." I said with a chuckle.
"Car, how is it possible for you to have a full days notice, and you still be late?" She asked, flashing me a smile.
"It's all part of my charm, Chlo." I smirked.
"A charm that works all too well on me." She added under her breath.
"What?" I asked, shutting my locker and throwing my bag over my shoulder.
"Nothing, we should get to class." She said, walking away from me.
"Chloe." I said, trying to get her attention.
It was no use, she was already up the stairs. I sighed, putting my headphones in my ears, blasting whatever song I had on repeat.
"You're the only one, the only one
Who ever gave a damn,
And it's killing me to know you think, I'm better than I am,
Came over here to tell the truth, but looking in your eyes,
Baby, sometimes it's easier to lie."I pushed the thoughts away, changing the song. I wasn't going to start off this year the same way the past two have gone. I told myself this year would be better. I chuckled to myself - yeah, like that'll happen. I was taken away from my thoughts by my phone.
From: Wyatt.
What happened to Chlo? I passed her in the hall and she looked like she was about to cry.To: Wyatt.
Wyatt, I honestly have no idea. We were talking, then all the sudden she said we should get to class, then walked away. I don't know what's up with her. Let me know what she tells you?
