She stopped me before I could continue.
"Carson. You don't have to explain anything. We don't even have to talk." She smiled at me. "I just have one question." I nodded. "Car have you ever tried to..." She couldn't say it, but I knew exactly what I meant.
I shifted my eyes towards her carpeted floor.
"Oh Carson..." she pulled me into a tight hug.
We pulled away and she wiped her eyes, giving me a small smile.
"But what bugs me the most I guess, is how every time she needs to have a serious conversation about either me or my mental health, Josh is always there."
My phone buzzed, so I picked it up - expecting it to be Jen. But I was wrong, both texts were from different people.

Due to popular request, the girls sleep over is now tomorrow, at Chloe's. She wants everyone to be there at 6. She sent it to everyone but you Car, I figured you'd wanna know.I didn't reply but just looked at the other one.
"Speak of the devil," I said, chuckling.

Are you awake? Can we talk? Car, I'm worried; Jen's worried. Tell me you're okay.."Like you even care." I whispered.
I chuckled, gripping my phone and throwing at her living room wall before I could even blink.
"Carson, what the hell?" Anna yelled.
I got up, picking my shattered phone up off the floor and putting it in my pocket. I paced. I'm so unbelievably mad right now, and I'm not even sure why. I punched her wall, I knew what I was doing, but at the moment I didn't care. I needed to get my anger out before I did something I'd regret.
"Carson, stop." I heard her say faintly.
I couldn't get control of my body. I swung my arm back again, but never connected with the wall. Instead, Anna had grabbed my arms and was holding me tight.
"Carson. Please." She whispered in my ear.
I felt my body relax in her arms. I sighed, gently trying to get my arms free. She slowly let me go, not knowing what my next move was.
"I'm gonna go get you some water, okay? Then we can watch a movie or something, if you want?" I nodded.
She got up and walked into the kitchen. She came back with a cute cup with her name on it.
I chuckled. "Thanks."
She smiled at me.
"I'm sorry about your wall." I looked down at my hands.
She put her finger under my chin and lifted my head up. "It's okay. How's your hand?"
She gently grabbed it and I winced. "It's not broken, I know that. So it's okay. It'll heal in a few days." I said.
She nodded. Her eyes met mine, then flickered to my lips. We both leaned in.
"We can't." I whispered, mere centimeters from her lips. "Let's watch a movie."
I curled myself into the corner of her couch and pulled a blanket over me. I wanted to kiss her so badly, but she could get fired. I didn't want to risk that for her. She picked out a random movie I'd seen before. I tried to pay attention but my mind was racing.
