I woke up on the couch, under a blanket.
"Jen?" I yelled.
"In the kitchen."
I got off the couch, wrapping the blanket around me and walked into the kitchen.
"Hey, how'd you sleep nugget?" I smiled.
"You haven't called me that since I was ten."
"I know. Things have been hard lately, but you'll always be my little nug."
I busted up laughing. "Oh Jen."
She chuckled. "But really, how'd you sleep?"
"Not too bad I suppose." I ran a hand through my hair.
"Good. Hungry?" I nodded.
"Yeah, I actually am." I smiled.
"Alright."
I sat down at the island and Jen placed a plate of like 7 waffles in front of me.
"Um, I know I said I was hungry, but I can't eat all of these." I chuckled.
"There for both of us ya goof."
She finished up the eggs and sat next to me.
"So, how're you and Lex?" I asked, taking a bit of my eggs.
"Um, we're okay. We talked a little last night, we haven't made anything official yet. I actually wanted to talk to you about it before we did anything."
"What about it?" I took another bite.
"Well, I just wanted to make sure you were okay with it." She said simply.
"Yeah, I'm fine with it. Why wouldn't I be?" I asked.
"Well, I mean I know she was your first girlfriend and all. And I know you two are getting closer. I don't want anything to be weird or awkward."
"Jen. It's okay." I chuckled. "If she makes you happy, it's okay. Really."
She smiled at me and we continued to eat.
"Mm!" Jen swallowed whatever was in her mouth.
"Yes?"
"Have you talked to Anna?"
I shook my head, pushing my plate away. I was suddenly full. "I'm still not sure what to say."
"Carson. Don't let her have this much control over you. Talk to her. I support you in whatever decision you think is best for you." She smiled.
I nodded and got up to take my plate to the sink. I saw my phone sitting on the counter, plugged in. I checked it.
From: Lex
Hey, so Jen and I talked. We aren't making anything official, she wants to talk to you. I just wanted you to know, she makes me super happy. I really, really like her Car. So I hope you're okay with this.
I chuckled and replied.
"Jen! Why is your girlfriend texting me?"
"I don't know."
"Hey, I'm gonna go for a run." I said, before jogging up the stairs.
I quickly changed and grabbed my headphones.
"I'll be back. I love you Jennifer."
"I love you Carson." She smiled.
I jogged down the street, not going super fast, it was a beautiful day. Before I knew it, I was outside Kerri's house, I'm not sure why, but I found myself walking up to her door. It swung open before I could knock.
