I jolted awake, trying not to scream. I wiped sweat off my forehead and moved around trying not to wake anyone up. I checked the time, only 5:45. I got up and went upstairs to the bathroom. I did my business, and looked at my texts from Anna. They were pretty hard to read because my screen was shattered form throwing it at Anna's wall the other night.

Carson, we need to talk. From: Coach Carter
I saw you and Chloe kissing, well making out in the kitchen last night. From: Coach Carter
I'm sorry for my freak out yesterday, Car. Can we please talk about it?My phone buzzed as I read the texts from last night.
From: Coach Carter
Are you okay? You're not in the living room, I'm worried.I chuckled. Worried? Yeah, okay Anna. I sighed and knew I needed to reply.
To: Coach Carter.
I'm upstairs in the bathroom, don't bother worrying about me. I'm surprised you even do considering the daggers you shot at me all night.I chuckeld as I heard footsteps coming up the stairs. I knew it was Anna because I knew nobody else would be awake for another 20 minutes. There was a light knock on the door, and it opened.
"Hey. Are you okay?" Chloe asked, shutting the door behind her.
"Yeah, I'm fine. Why?" I said, washing my hands quick.
"Coach said something about coming to check on you, but I got up here first." She chuckled. "Like she really cares, bet she won't even be here next year."
"Okay, well I'm good. I'm going to go home so I can shower before school. I'll um see you later Chlo."
"Car, wait." She put her hand on my forehead. "You're sweating. Are you having nightmares again?" She locked her eyes with mine, but I quickly moved mine to the floor.
"Yeah." I wanted to cry.
"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked.
"I figured after what happened last night, you needed some space, so I didn't want to bother you." I sighed.
"I don't care about last night. I'm here. Okay? Do you want to talk about it?" She sat on the sink.
"No. It's okay. I'm okay. I should go shower before school though." I walked out of the bathroom and downstairs.
I watched Anna walk out the door. I quickly grabbed my bag and keys, saying goodbye to the girls that were awake. I unlocked my car and threw my bag in the passenger seat, watching Anna pull out of the driveway. I pulled out right after, following her to her house and getting out of my car, meeting her at her front door. She didn't even acknowledge me, walking through the door and closing it behind her - well trying to. I put my foot in it, not letting it close, and walked in behind her.
"Coach, can we talk?" I asked, following her into the hallway.
She didn't reply.
"Miss. Carter, I'd like to talk to you." I tried again.
I heard a chuckle. I was getting somewhere.
"Anna. Can we talk? Please?" I tried one last time.
She turned around, tears running down her face.
"What do you want Carson?" She whispered.
"Anna, why are you crying?" I asked, taking a step towards her.
"Can we talk after school? I do not want to talk right now Carson." She was being so formal, I didn't like it.
"Anna, talk to me like you did the other night, when it was just us." I stepped even closer. "What happened to the Anna that cared? That wanted to hear about my day. If I wanted to talk to the formal Miss. Carter, I wouldn't have followed you home. I wanted to talk to Anna, and apparently she doesn't want to talk to me." I walked away from her.
