Harry offered her an apologetic look before stepping inside. Kirsten bit her tongue and swallowed hard forcing an unnaturally large smile on her face, why let Gemma get the best of her?

"Evening, Gemma," she said nodding in her direction before stepping inside. The house was unusually warm and she looked around for Harry's hand.

"Gem, I only came to apologize for the way I acted and give you a chance to apologize to Kirsten," he said confidently and slowly as if he was sounding out the syllables for Gemma.

"Hah, little brother, if that's what you came here to have me do, don't count on it." she cackled before ushering them out and promptly slamming the door. Kirsten glanced up at Harry unsure of what to do. She hadn't had a chance to say anything before the door swung open and Gemma reappeared.

"And brother dearest, you are welcome anytime, just please call first and," she said glaring at Kirsten, "come unaccompanied." She finished before slamming the door a second time and Harry speechless.

"Let's get out of here," he mumbled as he pulled his car keys out of his pocket and looked for the correct one.

"Harry, it's okay," Kirsten started, her voice fading away a bit before looking back at him.

"No, it's not, ignore Gemma, she's just being bitchy." He said looking towards the house and rolling his eyes before ducking into the car. Kirsten followed his action and sat down looking to her right at him and asking where they were going now.

"Niall's throwing a house party, Sarah and Lou might be there but I don't know, I think Zayn took Becca on a date, but Liam will be there, or we can just head to my place and chill for the night." He said holding the key just outside the ignition and waiting for her response.

"Yeah whatever is fine, a house party sounds fun," her voice was slightly aloof and she stared out the car window into the night sky. Harry's gaze lingered on her before pulling out and onto the street.

They pulled into a modern looking house and Harry took the key out and offered his hand to Kirsten.

"You're not mad are you?" he asked looking at her with puppy dog eyes and squeezing her hand, "I'm sorry for the way Gemma's been acting around you, I don't know what her problem is." His voice faded away and he looked at her for a long moment.
