[Alan]
Once again I wake up in the same room with a splitting headache, but this time everything is dark.
I glance out the window to see it's the dead of night and everything is completely silent.
I don't bother getting up and just roll onto my side, only to be met with a dead asleep Austin. My ears flatten and I decide maybe it's best for me to go somewhere else.
I silently stalk out of the room and into the living room where I find Tay half asleep watching TV with Lynn asleep next to her.
"Alan?" Tay asks tiredly.
"Yeah?"
"Why are you awake?" She asks adjusting a bit to look at me.
I sit on the other end of the couch. "I could ask the same for you."
She shrugs. "When the baby doesn't want to sleep I don't get to sleep," she says rubbing little circles on her stomach. "But besides the point, I heard you got here because people were hunting you down?"
I nod. "The government kinda wants me dead."
"Do you mean people from the government?" she asks.
"Nope, the whole of the United States government all want me dead." I pause looking at the shocked expression on her. "I don't get out of the house very often."
"Why are they trying to kill you?" She asks slowly.
"Well they're still blind to the fact that hybrids exist and I was basically one of their genetics experiments," I say.
"And they want you dead because...?"
"We escaped and I'm one of the only ones who hasn't gotten caught again."
She nods slowly and I suddenly hear heavy footsteps walk towards us. I turn and Austin walks in, sighing in relief when he sees me sitting here.
So it would be just that easy to leave.
I glance out the window to see the sun starting to come up. So much for going back to sleep.
Austin sits next to me and looks at me, a slightly unhappy look resting in his features.
"I thought you got out, kitty cat," he says.
"I was considering it," I say, earning an annoyed look.
