We set off. We locked the front door and headed down the street. My hand in Tristan’s. James’ arm around Amber. Brad awkwardly walking next to Tristan and Caitlin walking calmly next to me.

“Where to first?” I asked.

“The cafe?” James suggested. I think they’ve started to get attached to the place. We head down to the cafe. We take the table up the back where we normally sit.

“Hey Zoe.” I said as soon as she came out of the kitchen. “Do you have a guitar here?” I asked.

“Uh, we might out back. I think Sean left his here. I’ll just go and check.” Zoe left the room. I returned to the kitchen. Shortly after Zoe came back with a guitar in hand. She passed it to me and I passed it to Brad.

“You remember how to play Never Tear Us A Part by INXS right?” I asked him. He nodded slowly. “Caitlin, sit here.” There was no one else in the cafe at the moment so it wasn’t as embarrassing. I pulled everyone up. Brad pulled up a chair and started to strum. Since we could all sing we took it in turns. Tristan was also tapping on the table for a beat to follow.

Half way through the song, people started to stare through the windows. Zoe brought out another guitar from somewhere and handed it to James. He joined Brad and played the rest of the song. After we had finished, a quarter of the cafe was full. Caitlin looked very surprised. Everyone in the kitchen had come out to watch us.

Am I ever gonna see your face again by The Angels.?” I suggested. This one everyone should know. Amber and I started to dance around the small stage area a little while singing. People in the small audience joined in with our performance, dancing and singing, it felt amazing, unreal. I jumped off of the stage and pulled Caitlin up, getting her to jump around the stage with me and Amber. A few phones were out, I think recording. After that song we continued with Mr Right by A Rocket to the moon, Wonderwall by Oasis, I wanna know what love is by Foreigner and Paradise by the dashboard light by Meatloaf. Playing the older music, so hopefully people would like us a little more and so they could dance and sing along. It worked. By the end of it, 3/4 of the cafe was full. Everyone was cheering.

“We will be back every Friday night.” I said. They cheered some more. We got down off of stage. We handed Zoe back the guitars and then left the shop, after having to stop to answer questions from a few people. We walked to the park.

“You guys were amazing back there.” Caitlin said. James, Amber and Caitlin sat on a bench while Brad, Tristan and I sat on the grass. I was leaning on Tristan and Brad was laying on my legs as usual. Amber sitting on James’ lap.

“Thank you Caitlin.” I said. “You should come down and watch us on Friday’s then!”

“I will!”

“So this is the park. We don’t normally come down here though. We go somewhere else.” Brad said. He stood up. I sat up, Amber stood up, Tristan stood up then helped me up. James and Caitlin stood up as well. We followed Brad as he headed back home. I think I know where he was going. The forest. Yep. He was. He led Caitlin through to the clearing.

“This place is beautiful.” She said.

“We used to come down here all the time when we were kids.” Amber said.

“Why not now?” Caitlin asked.

“Not sure. I guess we got older, things changed, and we forgot about this place.” I said looking around, remembering everything we did here. The games we’d play, the people we’d create, the adventures we’d have until it was dinner, the camp outs for 2 hours. The best thing was no one else would come into the forest, when we were young, people thought it was too scary, but us being kids, thought we could take on anything. We were so wrong! We’d have to get dad- Steve to come and help us. Crap, not again. I sat down on a log while tears escaped my eyes. I wish I wasn’t so close to him. Tristan realised I was crying, he sat next to me and wrapped his arms around me. I cried into his chest.
