“Rhi! You’re amazing!” Amber said and hugged me.
“James, this is also a great way to convince our parents to let you stay!” I say.
“How did you even manage to get it?” Brad asked. Oh yay, the truth.
“Well I was singing.” I started. “Quietly to myself. The song The Heart Never Lies by McFly was on the radio. Zoe told me I could sing louder if I wanted. I did, only because no one else was in the cafe, except for Tristan, who started to play the beat on the table. So I was singing and dancing, and I’m pretty sure he was laughing at me as well as Zoe. So yeah after the song finished she asked me if we’d like to perform every Friday.”
“But how did she know about all of us?” James asked.
“I was hoping you wouldn’t ask that, but anyway. I have been going there for breakfast most mornings, a little quiet cafe and I know all of the staff. I have been telling her about you guys, and she has apparently been looking at our YouTube accounts because I never told her about how well we can all sing. Zoe is probably the closest person to me besides you three.”
“Oh. It all makes sense now!” Brad laughs. “I can’t believe you actually got that for us though!”
“Oh and Zoe said try not to perform the same songs every week. So we need to shake it up a little!” I smirked.
“Ok, why don’t we start on a list for songs that we are wanting to perform? Then we can start practicing while Jamesy is here!” Brad laughed. James poked Brad’s ribs at the new nick name.
“I’ll go get some snacks while you guys start. Actually why don’t I just make breakfast for all of you since you only just woke up?” I said.
“And this is why you are the eldest!” Brad laughed and went to the lounge room with Amber and James behind him. I started to crack some eggs and put it in a pan. I put on the kettle and pulled out the toaster. I got some bread, mugs, chocolate powder and butter. I put the bread in the toaster, got some milk and poured it into the pan, starting to make scrambled eggs. Filled the kettle with water and turned it on to boil. I stirred the eggs until they started to bubble. The toast popped, I pulled it out and put it on the bench and buttered it. The kettle went off, so I put some chocolate powder in each mug and filled it with water, then adding milk to it. The eggs were finished so I scooped them out onto the pieces of toast, put them on plates and carried the three plates out to the lounge room.
“Spill any of this and you’ll be cleaning the whole room.” I say and pass a plate to each of them. I went back to the kitchen, grabbed the four mugs and returned to the lounge and gave them all a mug and sat myself down on the couch.
“Alright. These are the songs we have so far.” Amber said. “You Found Me by The Fray, Teenage Dirtbag by Wheatus. Love is easy by McFly, Mr Right by A Rocket To The Moon and Everywhere by Fleetwood Mac. Any others that you can think of?”
“Let Me Go by Avril Lavigne and Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson?” (A/N if you don’t know what these songs are you should look them up! They are quite good!)
