It started to pour down with rain. We ran for it. We may have looked like idiots but we just wanted to get home out of the rain.

When we finally reached our house we were out of breath. We sat on the steps of our house, trying to catch our breath. Fair enough to say, we were drenched in water. It wasn’t warm either, goosebumps covered our skins.

“Can we please go inside now? I would like a shower!” Amber says.

We unlock the front door and walk in. Just how we left it.

I go into the back room and sit on the floor on my phone waiting for Brad and Amber to come down.

Since I was cold, I went to my bedroom and grabbed my unicorn onsey. I put it on so it would keep me warm- Because we never got told by our parents how to use the heating system. I sat on the couch where Amber was.

“Hello again!” I say. She smiles back at me. “So how’s your arm feeling?”

“Better now, thank you for doing what you did.”

“You’re my sister, no one is going to hurt you.” I grab her in a massive hug. A tear rolls down my cheek.

“Am I going to be interrupting something?” Brad asks. I wipe the tear away.

“No. You’re fine. Come sit.” I say.

“I think for dinner, so we don’t have to cook anything, we just get some noodles.” Brad says.

“Yep good idea.” I say.

“And we should watch a horror movie.” Amber adds. Brad and I nod in agreement, and we all go to the kitchen and grab noodle cups. Brad and Amber grab chicken, and I grab beef. I put the kettle on and wait for it to heat up.

The rain got heavier. It sounded like it was going to be a very strong thunderstorm.

The kettle was done, so we put the water in our cups and went back to the back room. We all sat on the couch and put on a horror movie that we hadn’t seen before.

Five minutes into the movie, Amber and Brad were in each others arm shaking with fear. I was sitting by myself waiting for something exciting to happen.

I checked the time; 11:00pm. Mum and dad should be coming home soon.

In the movie, and shadowed figure slams the door open while rain is pouring outside. Our front door slams open and two figures appear. We all scream! The lights get turned on and we see who it really is. Our parents.

“Sorry mum, dad.” I apologise before I start laughing. It seemed really strange for it to happen just like the movie. Well at least our parents weren’t mental murders.

“Kids, I think you should go to bed.” Our dad says.

We all groan before getting up. I kiss my parents on the cheek and walk to my room. I got into my PJ’s and sat in my bed with my laptop. Since it was the holidays it didn’t really matter how late I stay up. I logged onto YouTube and looked at some videos. Then I read an online book, it wasn’t that good, sadly. I love to read. I put my laptop away and grabbed my phone and laid down.

I went onto the app store and looked at the most popular free apps. Twitter. I have been wanting to get this, but I haven’t. Maybe once I start up my YouTube channel with Amber. Maybe.

I hear and thump. I get up and investigate. I let the curious side of me get out of hand too often. I walk down the hall and hear another thump. It’s coming from Brad’s room. I slowly open the door.

“Brad? Are you alright?” I hear a sniff. “Brad?”

“It’s over.” He says.

“What’s over?” I say and walk over to his bed and sit down next to him. He hands me his phone. I look at the video. It’s his girlfriend making out with some guy from school. I always knew she was trouble. It’s horrible.
