Jaheem believes in Free will. Do things because you WANT to and not because you have to he would always say. You don't have to do anything.
"Never let anything define or rule you Jaheem" those were the words... The last words she told him, the words he lived by. Breaking them meant dishonoring her death and that's the last thing he would want to do.
"Something's different" Alijah said as she watched her brother got ready for first Patrol, he chuckled
"I'm actually wearing uniform this time"
"No that's not it"
"Then what?"
"It seems...you seem like-"
"Well, uh I gotta go... I'm already late as it is" he said interrupting her before she finished what he thought she was about to say

"What" he asked as he unlaced his shoes
"How long Jaheem and don't lie to me because you know you can't"
"Sis calm down" he cooed
"No!... How. Long. " she asked between closed teeth and he sighed

"Because its not important. It. Does. Not. Matter... Dianna" he said really getting irritated of the situation he was in

"I'm sure she's OK Ali"
"Ugh for once Jaheem think about someone else!"

"Thought you did things because you want to and not because you had to"
"I don't want someone's death on my hands Dianna"
"Fine whatever"
"Dianna..."
"What?... Go, go and do what you have to do Jaheem... Call me when its all done ".
