I went to the couch and lied down, dropping the crutches onto the ground.
" You like him don't you?"
I looked at Daniel.
" No. I don't. Bug off," I said.
He raised an eyebrow.
" So why did you leave his house?"
I sighed and closed my eyes.
" He kissed me," I said.
I replayed the moment in my mind and quickly opened my eyes.
" Forcefully?" he asked.
" No," I said slowly.
" So you wanted it to happen?" Daniel asked.
" No."
He looked at me confused.
" I don't get it. It wasn't forceful. And you didn't want it to happen. That makes no sense."
I sighed frustrated.
" It just happened. We were talking, my head was in his lap. Then he bent down and kissed me. No tongue or anything. Just both of our lips touching."
But the thought made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
" Just a kiss. Ok." Daniel said slowly.
" Anyways. My love life isn't your concern. You need to stop pushing girls away and find yourself a girl. Girls are always practically drooling over you. I don't see why though."
I said the last part jokingly. But I know why girls do. In short, he's hot. Not going to lie. He has soft eyes and nice hair. Perfect skin complexion and very muscular.
He laughed and got up, ruffling my hair, as he walked by.
" I'm sexy. You know that. Plus I don't have time for girls. I gotta take care of my baby sister first," he said, going into the kitchen.
" You don't have to take care of me. You need to take care of yourself. Find a girlfriend you loner!" I called after him.
He came back with a baggy of ice and tossed it to me. I caught it and put it on my eye and winced at the coldness.
" Well if I was out with a girl when dad was hitting you do you think you'd still be alive?" he asked with a raised eyebrow.
He was right. If my brother wasn't always around I'd most likely be dead.
" I can defend myself. Go on a date."
He looked at me with a raised eyebrow.
" Clearly." he said sarcastically.
" Just go on a date. One girl. Give it a try."
Daniel shook his head.
" Please? For me?" I asked, jutting my bottom lip out and making my good eye big.
He groaned.
" You know I can't say no to the poppy dog face."
He smiled happily and clapped my hands.
" Great. And make sure you actually be a gentlemen. Pay for everything. Be nice. Ask about her. No talking bout yourself-"
" I know what to do on a date." he said.
I laughed.
" It's been a while." I stated simply.
He laughed but I could hear the pain behind it
