Chapter 20

(Cipheris cont.)

"Please accept our apology." Paseris finished. We waited for a response from King Kyro and Queen Marigo.

"Very well, I see you put in the effort." Kyro finally said.

"Your apology is accepted." Marigo said.

"However, if I find that any of you disrespect my daughters... you will face the repercussions for your actions. Especially you two." Kyro says sternly pointing at me and Paseris.

"Just a question. Why not Shilo?" I ask.

"He's obviously the safer one of you three." Kyro said. Ha! He's the one who planted one on one of his daughters first.

"Oh. Um... Thanks?" Shilo says.

We then ate our dinner and talked about small things. Rose and her parents talked about the wedding for a while. We finally then went to bed.

(Paseris)

I was waiting for Violet at the bottom of the stairs, wearing some formal pants and a button down shirt with a sports coat. I looked at my watch and saw that it was 7:45; our dinner reservation, at Le Bon Choix, was at 8:00.

I looked up from my watch and saw Violet. She looked so beautiful. She was wearing a royal blue dress and had her long, wavy hair down. She walked down the stairs to me. I give her a smile and she gave me one back. We walked to our car, which had a chauffeur.

"So where are you taking me." Violet asked curiously as we rode in the car.

"I got us dinner reservations at Le Bon Choix." I answered.

"Oo, fancy." She says. After about ten minutes we stop. The chauffeur gets out and inspects the engine.

"Why does this keep happening." I say.

"I know! It's like every time we are in a car something happens." Violet says. The chauffeur comes back and looked at us. He had an upset expression on his face.

"Sorry Prince Paseris, but the engine is kaput. I could get another ride here in half an hour. There's a bad storm heading this way." The chauffeur says.

"Thanks." I say sadly.

"Hey since we are here, do you want to just look around?" Violet suggests.

"Sure." I say. We get out of the car and wander around. We were in a small town filled with businesses. There was a grocery store, an ice cream parlor, a coffee shop, a bar, and other stores.

"This place kinda reminds me of Sou-Bo." Violet says.

"Yeah." I respond. Suddenly there is a gust of wind. I feel a raindrop and then another. The rain starts to downpour. Violet and I run inside a shop. We turn around and see that it is a diner called Happenstance.

"Well, since we most likely will miss our reservation, you want to eat here?" I ask.

"I would love to." Violet says smiling. She holds my arm and I walk her to a table booth. We sit down and look at the menu.

"Are you ready to order?" An old woman asks cheerfully.

"Yes." We say in unison.

"I will have a burger with curly fries and a chocolate milkshake." Violet says.

"And you sir?" She asks me.

"I will also have a burger with fries and a Neapolitan milkshake." I say.

"Alright, it will be out in a few minutes." She says. As she leaves I put my head on the table.

"What's wrong?" Violet asks concerned.
