"Just a little more sleep" I groaned as I sat up in bed turning off my alarm. At this point, I don't even know why I said yes to meeting Yuri. I was way too tired and I just wanted to sleep the day away. Plus if things couldn't get any worse, I had to sneak past Viktor. I looked down at my phone to figure out that I had been staring at the wall for at least 10 minutes which left me with almost no time to get ready. I got out of bed suddenly awake and quickly got ready not wanting to waste any time.(^^ If it wasn't obvious, this is what you wear)
I then realised that the coffee shop is right by the ice rink so I grabbed my leopard print backpack with my skates in it and my phone. I was about to open my door when I thought of something, what if Viktor is there. I looked out my window wondering if jumping out of a 2 story building was the best idea or not. Although, I quickly decided against it. I then opened my door and walked downstairs. I searched the area at the bottom of the stairs, no sign of Viktor. I then walked towards the front door and looked around again to make sure he wasn't there because I felt like he was there just watching me leave. Once I knew he wasn't there I left. I closed the door behind me and started running towards the coffee shop. It was a 10-minute run at least and I had very little stamina, almost none at all. A little while later I made it to the coffee shop, panting, nearly out of breath. I felt like I was gonna die but I knew that wasn't the case. I took out my phone and checked the time, 11:01. I knew I was only a minute late but I somehow knew he was going to be annoyed. I mean from what I hear it's basically who he is. I walked into the coffee shop. I was nervous and of course, I was tired and probably looked terrible due to lack of makeup but that's life for you.
"Oi! Over here." I heard from across the room. I looked over and saw Yuri sitting by the window. I walked over to him and sat down.
"Why did you invite me to come here with you?" I asked him.
"Well I wanted to talk about ice skating like what skills you have, have you ever done routines. Stuff like that." He said like it was obvious all along.
I sighed deciding I shouldn't say anything to get him annoyed.
"Well I've never done a planned out routine, I just do what comes to me at the moment I hear the song," I said to him nervous that the truth wasn't going to be a good enough answer for him.
He sighed and rolled his eyes before saying, "Why don't you just stick to something or get someone to choreograph something for you."
"I would but I don't have to deal with that. It's easier to just make stuff up when I have time. I know you don't have school and homework but unfortunately, I do." I said getting agitated at the fact that he thinks I just have all the time in the world to do these things.
"Oh I forgot that you waste your time with that," he said. I want sure if he sounded annoyed or just genuinely being forgetful. I was about to say something to him to change the subject when there was a slam on the table and I knew exactly who it was. "What do you need Viktor," I said nonchalantly. I looked up and saw his face. He was trying his best to stay calm. I looked over to Yuri the same blank expression on my face. He seemed as though he was figuring out what was going on. "Why did you leave without letting me know?" He said trying to handle his emotions. I knew who he was inside and out. He may be an air-head but at this moment he was in between losing it and breaking down. Although, no matter what Viktor never, and I mean never, shows his emotions in front of others.
"Yuri invited me. You would have never let me go without you coming, plus I was coming home after." I said this time my voice completely monotone.
"Why did you bring your skates with you." Viktor then countered my response. My eyes went wide for a second but I quickly went back to my old expression. I got up and grabbed my bag.
I then said staring straight at Victor, "I'll be home around 6."
I walked out and as soon as I was out of view I started running to the ice rink. I went there whenever I just wanted to think. The ice rink was the one place I was free, I had no restrictions. I could do whatever I wanted and no one would care. I walked in and put on my skates. I then stepped on the ice, put on my headphones, and put my playlist on shuffle. What I did was the first song that came on I would make a routine on and I would never do it again. It was my idea of practice. The Greatest by Sia came on and I started automatically. The song was one of my favourites to practice to. There were so many great opportunities for jumps. This kind of practice I do works for me physically just not mentally. Mentally, I'm terrible, I'll never be good enough, I'll always be scared to disappoint others. Physically, my form is nearly perfect, I can land nearly every jump, I can free, I'm somewhat strong. These things are both different, opposites. These two things will stop me from achieving my goals in life. The song ended and I took out my headphones. I looked in front of me and there was the Russian Punk who I had left at the coffee shop, standing their shock written all over his face.
