The Second Exam: Forest of Death?

"They will never lay a hand on us, they will never understand in what we trust is so much stronger. Oh, but I don't know if we'll make it through..."

"This is the place where you'll be taking your second exam. It's the forty fourth battle training zone... But we like to call it the Forest of Death." Our new proctor, Anko announced to everyone that came for the test.

Beyond her was a forest towering over everything in sight enclosed by a gate that was shut tight with several locks. On one tree I could see a visibly large centipede crawling by, giving me chills. I really wasn't a big fan of insects at all... On another tree, a harmless bird landed on a branch but it was short lived when a humongous snake, probably bigger than Haru, Keiji, Mamoru and I put together, quickly swallowed the poor bird whole.

"We're going in there?" Keiji asked, staring at the forest with wide dark blue eyes in trepidation.

Seeing his look of dread, I barked out a laugh. "Chill Keiji, we'll be fine! You even said it yourself, "risk it for the biscuit". So now you better nut up or shut up!" I laughed again as I slapped him on the back roughly.

I honestly wasn't too worried about this exam. This actually looked like it was gonna be interesting, not to mention exciting!

"This place gives me the creeps..." I could hear Sakura say near the front of the crowd.

Anko smirked wickedly at her. "It should. There's a reason it's called the Forest of Death, and soon you're gonna find out why."

Naruto immediately put his hands on his hips femininely and popped his butt out. "There's a reason it's called the Forest of Death and soon you're gonna find out why." Naruto mocked, shaking his ass making me snicker at him. "Do your worst, you're not gonna scare me off! I can do anything, believe it!"

I looked at Keiji, gesturing at the blonde ahead. "See, if Naruto ain't worried neither should you." He only groaned in response.

Anko gave Naruto an eye closed smile. "So, we got ourselves a tough guy..." Suddenly, she threw a kunai skinning past Naruto's face and through another ninja's long black hair who was wearing a hat along with their other two teammates beside us.

The kunai landed in front of Keiji's foot making him jump up and scream in a high pitched tone. "What?! I didn't do anything!"

I rolled my eyes at him. "She wasn't talking to you, smartass." I bent over and took the kunai out from the ground but when I stood up again, the ninja with long hair and hat was standing right next to me-almost hovering over and irking me.

I raised a brow at him as I looked at their headband. It showed they were from the Grass Village? I think that's the village Haru told me. "I'll take that off your hands, miss." He... She... It offered. I honestly couldn't tell what it was. The face said boy but it's voice said girl... Now it's just an It.

Why did it want to take the kunai? I could bring it to Anko myself. I glanced at my teammates to see Haru and Mamoru watching the Grass Ninja with suspicious eyes and back at the ninja, who stared at me intently with a small smile placed in their pale face. I shrugged, deciding not to worry about it being I had enough on my plate as it is with the exam... Among other things. "Sure, here."

I held out the kunai to it and it grabbed it, but not in the way I expected. It grabbed it with it's tongue. Like it's tongue literally extended out of it's mouth and took it out of my hand. Upon doing so, I pulled my hand back quickly. That was pretty... Disturbing.

The ninja tipped his head to me before walking off to Anko who was now behind Naruto. When did she get there?

"How did he do that?" Keiji whispered to us.
