The first week Paige was on campus, she met a dashing young fellow by the name of Micky. He was a rather wacky minded creature, but he was really cool. "HeLLo thERE! I'm Micky!" He greeted her with a funny sounding accent, in their psychology class. "Hi," she laughed, "I'm Paige." "W-well how are YOU this LovELy afternoon?!" he continued. "Haha, I'm great. What about yourself?" "I am just fantastic!" he told her as he spun around in his chair, throwing his arms up. Paige wasn't really sure if this was sarcasm or his real answer. After a few more weeks of knowing him, she eventually knew. He was a rather sarcastic person, but at the same time he was very hyper.
"Who are you calling?" Micky asked her one day when she was at the booth. "Michael, my boyfriend." "OoOooOoo. Where is he at?" "Basic training for the Air Force." "Aww. Sounds like a tough guy." "He can be... Hey Mike!" she started a conversation that would last for about 20 minutes. "You guys sound adorable," Micky announced his presence. "Eavesdrop much?" "Not usually, but I had to this time." "Why?" "Curiosity." "Killed the cat," she finished the saying. "Very true, my friend, but I'm not dead, yet." "Yet, that is the key word. Mike is coming up here two weekends from now, please don't piss him off." "Why would I do that?! I don't want to get my beautiful face beat up by a big, strong, military man!" "He isn't as big as you think. He is about your size but an inch or two taller." "Oh really? Well, I will do all that I can not to piss him off, and by that I mean lock myself away in my tower." "You don't have to do that. I want him to meet you, so you gotta come out or we will come find you." "Haha, you aren't giving me many options... You see, its best he doesn't know me... Guys tend to get really mad at me for hanging around their girls... I don't do anything to them, we are just friends and then their boyfriends get all jealous or something... No matter what you tell him, he will still feel that same way." "How do you know?" "Cause I am a boy, dur," he teased. "How about I make a deal with you, Micky. If he asks about any guy friends, then I will say something about you and possibly come see you. If he doesn't then I wont say a word." "He will ask, I guarantee it." "Gosh, why is he so smart?!" she asked herself. "Then I don't know. Lets not worry now, we still have time." Worry, they didn't, but the time eventually came.
Paige gazed upon her wrist watch that her parents had given her, its was noon. "Oh! Mike shall be in soon, I should go pick him up!" "Hey, if ya like I can let you borrow my car," Micky suggested. "Oh my gosh! That would be so much better than taking the bus down there! Thanks Micky!" "No problem. You will have fewer problems if you take a car, rather than a bus FULL of people." "Wanna come show me where it is... I didn't even know you had one," she laughed. "Haha, sure." Micky directed her to his car. His car was the holy grail of the parking lot, a 1958 Thunderbird. "Oh my gosh! I thought one of the professors drove this!" "Nope! This baby right here is mine!" "Thank you so much for letting me drive this!" "It needs to be exercised anyways, have fun!" Paige turned and smiled and jumped into the car, starting the engine. "Oh, I hope I don't ruin you," she spoke to the car as she drove out of the parking lot.
Paige made it safely through town, despite the fact she hadn't drove in a while. She found Mike waiting outside on a bench. She honked the horn as she pulled up. "Michael!" she greeted as she got out of the car. "I'm liking your style babe. Whose car is this?" "Does it matter?" she teased. "Well no, just curious is all." "Its a friend's. Now, lets head back to my dorm, alright?" Mike beat Paige to the driver's seat, "I've always wanted to drive one of these," he told her as he settled in and she got it and the they drove off. "So, whats your friend's name?" he asked as they were stopped. "Micky." Mike was sorta quiet. "When did you meet him?" "First day of classes, in psychology." "Oh, he sounds like a cool cat for letting you drive this thing." "Yeah, he is. He said it needed to be exercised anyways,"she chuckled.
When they got to the university, Micky greeted them at the door so he could get his keys back. "Hey, Paige." Mike was behind her, Micky shook his hand, "Nice to meet you sir." "Nice to meet you too," Mike replied in a sorta monotone voice. Micky followed them in, but took the stairs up as they took the lift. "You already scared him off, Michael..." Paige told him as the lift went up. "I didn't mean to..." "Then tell him you are sorry," she told him as they walked out. Micky just got to the top of the stairs. "I'm sorry for sounding so mean, Micky," he put out his hand. Micky shook it again, "Its alright, I understand that you just want to protect her from boys." "Ha, yeah, you get me," Mike smiled. "I guess I can trust you to look after her while I am away," he said, sounding like a father rather than a boyfriend. "Haha, yes sir." "Call me Mike man, sir makes me feel old." "Okay, Mike." "Oh great, what did I start?" she laughed. "I'll catch you guys later," Micky told them and went to his dorm. "See, Micky is cool, you don't gotta worry." "Haha, hopefully."
