Hard to Believe

The doorbell rang. It was roughly noon. Michael was gone at an audition. Paige walked to the door with baby Jessica in her arms.

"How was your audition?" Paige inquired as she side hugged Micky.

"It went pretty well, or at least I thought it did. Can I hold her?"

"Sure. Did you see Mike?" she asked as she handed her second child to him.

"I did! He goes after the guy who walked in after me. You really did a nice job with this one," Micky noted how adorable Jessica was.

"Hey, Christian is just as cute," Paige laughed.

"I know, but baby girls are just cuter in general. They know what's up."

"Whatever ya say. When are Davy and Peter's auditions?"

"I'm pretty sure Davy was the first to go this morning, and I don't think Peter's is until tomorrow morning."

"Wouldn't it be the wildest thing if all of you got a part in this show?"

"That would be pretty groovy, babe, but the odds of that are probably pretty slim."

"This is out of the blue, but can I rant to you about something?"

"Of course! What's on the mind?"

"Well, I feel so useless. I just stay home with the kids all day while Micahel is out working all of these odd jobs. I just feel like I could be doing something more for us. I feel bad that he is the only one putting food on the table."

"If you got a job, who would watch the kids? A babysitter and you would have to pay them, so it a way you guys are saving money by not needing a babysitter."

"I guess, but he just comes home so exhausted most of the time, and it just tears my heart in two."

"Maybe bring this up to him and get his thoughts on it?" Micky suggested.

"Yeah. He told me that if he gets a spot in this show he will be making enough money for our family and then some."

"With the money, I could probably buy myself a girlfriend," he chuckled.

"Oh my goodness, Micky. All in good time, I promise," she smiled.

"I know, I know. Just don't die on me. I can't raise your kids and be looking for a girlfriend."

"Some girls really dig guys with kids."

"Really?"

"Yeah, but I don't plan on dying anytime soon," she chuckled.

"Why did you pick me to be their godfather?"

"Well, Micky, you have been there for me through thick and thin, and you are just a really great guy. There is a reason that Mike called you the night I went into labor with Jessica. We trust you," Paige replied to him endearingly.

"Aw thanks, babe."

About 30 minutes later Michael came walking through the front door.

"How did it go?" his wife inquired.

"It was alright. It was kinda different, but I can't complain. How did yours go, Mick?"

"I thought it went well, but I agree, it was set up a little differently," he answered as he gave baby Jessica to her father.

"Daddy!" Christian shouted as he slid down the stairs.

"Well someone decided to finally wake up," Paige noted as Christian ran to hug his father's leg.
