Emma Roberts as Allie Monroe at the side

I trudged on, half awake, with my heavy bag in tow behind me as I exited from the airplane. The cool air the plane sputtered out during my two hour flight didn't help when the hot air assaulted my body, making the subtle chill that settled on me vanish at once. As I walk down the hall, I shrugged out of my hoodie.

Tucking a strand of hair behind my ear, I rode the escalator down to where the arrivals were supposed to meet whoever was getting them from the airport. I pushed up my tinted glasses onto the top of my head, scanning through the crowd.

I grinned when I found my brother to the far left. As fast as I could, I ran to him. He had a big smile on his face, his arms stretched out for me. I jumped upwards to welcome his bear hug. He scooped me up easily as if I was still the tiny kid he used to live with. He set me down, and I couldn't help but hug him once more.

"Cody! It's been so long since I saw you face to face!" The last time I saw him with my own eyes and not through the computer, his light brown hair was always waxed up and his hazel brown eyes were full of laughter and mischief. It’s been years though, and even though we Skype each other every other week, there are details that webcams fail to show.

Now there were dark shadows under his eyes, which still lit up when he smiled. Yet the innocence in those warm hazel eyes back then was long gone. His cheeks were quite gaunt, chin rough with dark bristles.

“Cody, you’re old!” I teased as we made our way out the building, and he smirked as he took my baggage. “You're mean.” He pouts childishly, and I laughed. Yep, still the childish brother I adore.

When we got to his car, a guy came out of the car, and just one glance I realized who he was.

“Brandon?” I asked, my eyes widening. He came towards me with the same heart stopping smile I always saw when I was still younger. “Allijah! Look at you!” He exclaimed as he crouched down and give me a hug too. I laughed out loud as he set me down.

"It's so good to see you again! Man, still looking like you could break a million hearts in a second eh?" I tease lightly. He grinned. "I would never break your heart, Al."

I blushed at what he said, pushing him playfully in the chest. He knew all too well about my huge crush on him when we were younger. Who wouldn’t? He and my brother were even turning heads right now.

"I'll kick your ass if you do," Cody interjects, sending the man a playful glare.

Brandon has been Cody’s best friend since as long as I can remember. Brandon would come over to our house quite a lot back when my brother was still in highschool. Through the fabric of his shirt, I can see the outline of his muscular pecs. His biceps are way bigger than they were back then, straining against the fabric of his sleeves. His blue eyes still looked as blue as the ocean.

Man, I still can't believe that I know such a hottie.

This is why there is a God.

Helping me put my luggage in the car's trunk, they questioned me about whatever that can be questioned. How much taller did I grow since I last saw them, if I was doing well in school, if I was seeing anyone-which, to Cody's relief, I wasn't.

I rode shotgun while Brandon drove to their apartment building. It was half an hour away and we spent the whole time laughing and catching up.

I admired the view outside my window. I always wanted to live with my brother. The city was so much more exciting compared to my old town, and I used to wish for me to be able to live him.

I just wish that that didn't have to be the reason why I'm here.
