"Allie?"
I rubbed my eyes, smudging my make-up. “Leave me alone, Liam” I whispered hoarsely. A soft hand held my shoulder, then ushered me to get up. I did, without looking at him.
“Don’t worry, it’s me, Evan.”
His finger lifted my chin and his baby blue eyes were full of concern. He took my appearance in and then he pulled me into a warm hug. I shook against his slightly toned chest and I rested my forehead at the crook of his neck. He ran his fingers up and down my back, trying to comfort me.
Tears flooded my eyes, but I blinked them back. It was honestly heartbreaking that I would catch him almost doing ‘it’. I thought that he liked me.
I internally face palmed. You’re so freaking dumb, Allijah! You actually think that he’d like you? He’s a player. He gets all the girls, and I’m supposed to think that a girl like me is supposed to make him fall for me.
I’m so stupid. Taylah. God, I should’ve listened to Taylah.
I could see what happened if I was his girl. He’d treat me right. He’d give me soft kisses on the forehead and give me the most romantic gifts. He’d be the most perfect boyfriend ever, and one night I’d decide to lose my V card. It would have been the greatest night of my life.
And then the next day he’ll break up with me and I’ll see him making out with some girl.
‘What are you thinking?” Evan mumbled softly. I realized that I was clutching Evan tightly, and I was shaking slightly due to the cold. I smiled apologetically, letting him go. “Thinking how I was such a naïve girl. I should stop thinking like I’m a princess.” I said.
He nodded understandingly, and he led me to his car. I sat beside him as he made his way towards my apartment. He had a bit off a hard time accompanying me to the door, since I was so distracted that I almost fell about five times.
Finally, I sat down on the couch. I curled into a ball, and lied on my side. The soft leather on my skin made me feel comfortable in my dress, even though it was cold in my apartment. Evan turned off the air conditioner and he went to the kitchen. I didn’t ask him what he did, since I fully trusted him.
Later on, he came back with a cup of sweet smelling tea while he was texting on his phone. When he sat down beside me, he patted my feet. I stretched them and placed them on his lap. “The girls are really worried about you, but I assured them I was here.” He informed me and I nodded silently.
“Do you want to talk about it?” He asked slowly. I nodded, biting my lip.
I told him everything. From the hallway to the mess we made in the kitchen, although I left out how he left when he read Evan’s flirty text. It was nothing important anyway. Well, actually it is. If Liam hadn’t read that, I knew he would’ve asked me out and my theory on him being the best boyfriend then dumping me will go as he planned.
But I didn't mention it.
“He planned it, didn’t he? But I guess he got so tired of not getting what he wants that he just found another girl to fuck.” I said quietly. Evan was just quiet, staring at me with his eyes.
I knew that he knew that I wasn’t telling the whole truth.
I only told him that so that I would convince myself, then maybe I could move on. But I couldn’t. I told him that he was just planning to get in my pants and leave me, but at the back of my mind, that didn’t make sense.
