Peacock slowly opened her eyes. Her head was throbbing, and her vision was swirling wildly.
Where was she?
Peacock tried to move her arms.
Nothing happened.
Her vision clearing, Peacock looked down. Her arms and legs were bound with some kind of rope. She shook her head and looked around.
She was in some kind of large empty room. A circular window with a stained glass ladybug was directly in front of her. Tiny sparkling lights floated and flew around the room.
How did she get here? What had she been doing before? Where was Vixen?
Vixen.
Peacock's eyes widened.
Where was Vixen?
Peacock began to quickly scan the room in search of her partner.
"Vixen? Vixen!?" Peacock yelled into the darkness.
She began to panic."Oh don't worry pretty bird." A voice cooed. "He's right here."
Light filled the room. Peacock squinted her eyes.
Miss Fortune was standing next to a ray on a tall platform that had been previously hidden by the darkness. Vixen was neatly tied up beside her with a gag in his mouth. He was desperately trying to escape."Let him go." Peacock sneered.
"Not until you hand over your miraculous dearie." Miss Fortune teased. "And you better do it soon. I'm just dying to try out the new toy turtle man gave me."
Peacock struggled against her bindings, clenching her teeth.
"Time is running out. Whatever shall you do?" Miss Fortune giggled.
Peacock looked over at Vixen. He was looking at her in a way, practically screaming not to give in.
But Peacock didn't want him to die.She loved him.
Peacock squeezed her eyes shut. She didn't know what to feel.
"What's the matter?" A voice hissed from the darkness. "Cat got your tongue?"
The shape of Cat Blanc materialized out of the darkness, his yellow eyes piercing through the shadows.
He stalked over to Peacock, running his hand across her cheek.
Peacock shuddered. His hand was cold to the touch.
"Now, now Cat. We still need her miraculous. You can have her afterwards."Cat Blanc looked up at Miss Fortune, slightly annoyed. "Remind me again why we can't just rip the miraculous out of her cold dead hands?"
Miss Fortune sighed and smacked Cat Blanc in the head with her yoyo. "BECAUSE she has to give it up willingly idiot."
Cat Blanc growled and turned back to Peacock. He grabbed her and brought her close.
"I'll be waiting my princess." He whispered in her ear."Stay away from her!" Vixen yelled, having finally gotten past the gag.
Cat Blanc froze, suddenly disappearing and reappearing in front of Vixen. His claws gleamed in the light.
"So now you want to be the hero, eh foxtrot?" Cat Blanc growled.
"You won't touch her again." Vixen growled back.
There was a vicious slicing noice and Vixen grunted in pain. Peacock could see blood dripping from four long gashes in his cheek.
"Stop!" Peacock yelled out.
"Make me." Cat Blanc whispered across the room.
Peacock growled, snapping one of her leg retrains.
The fact that Vixen was getting hurt, it didn't fill her with guilt or sadness. It filled her with anger.
"I said, Let. Him. Go."
Cat Blanc took a step back.
"What are you doing idiot!" Miss Fortune snapped. "Restrain her!"
Cat Blanc shook his head and jumped down to her level. Peacock was fuming. Cat Blanc looked like he didn't want to go anywhere near her.
"Now, now..." he said quietly as he inched towards her.
Peacock could practically hear Miss Fortune rolling her eyes. Her yoyo snapped out quickly, like a deadly snake. Cat Blanc jumped and let out some kind of mangled hissing noise. He rubbed the back of his head and glared at Miss Fortune.
She sneered at him and he turned back to Peacock with a determined look on his face. His claw grew sharp and he quickly advanced.
Slash!
"Peacock!" Vixen screamed.
Cat Blanc backed up, his claws stained red, a huge smiled on his face.
Miss Fortune began to laugh, Vixen just left staring at Peacock's body. He felt tears pool in the corners of his eyes.
Cat Blanc moved closer to her, until he jumped back. Vixen quickly looked up.
Peacock pulled herself free of her arm restraints. Cat Blanc had cut right through them.
Peacock grabbed Cat Blanc, throwing him at Miss Fortune, knocking them both off the platform. They landing on the ground with a loud thump, followed by several groans.
Peacock smiled as she ran up to Vixen and untied him.
"Peacock!" Vixen exclaimed, hugging her tightly.
Peacock could feel her face turn slightly pink."Are you ok?" She asked, lightly brushing his clawed cheek.
"I'm fine, really. I've had worse you know."
"I'm sure you have tough guy."
Vixen smiled. "Of course I have, but what about you. I-I had thought-"
"You really didn't think that I would just leave you hanging like that, right? We are a team after all." Peacock replied.
Vixen looked down at her. "Yea we are. Pound it?" Vixen asked, sticking out his fist.
"Pound it." Peacock bumped his fist with her own.
"This isn't over yet you filthy animals!" Miss Fortune screeched.
Peacock and Vixen turned just in time to see the ray pointed at them.
"Smile for the camera freaks!
The was a large, blinding flash, and they were gone.
