Do You Like Him?

(About three weeks later)

Nikki began to gather up her books. It was finally the end of they day, and she just wanted to get home.

"Hurry up Daniel." Nikki said impatiently.

"I'm going, I'm going." Daniel replied as he zipped up his backpack and slung it over his shoulder. The two headed for the door, before someone stopped them.

"Hey, can I talk with Nikki for a sec?" Alya asked. "I promise to give her right back."

Daniel shrugged.

"Sure. Be right back." Nikki followed Alya down the hall and around the corner.

"So what's up?" Nikki asked.

"Do you like Adrien?" Alya bluntly asked.

"What!"

"Do you? You hang out with him so much, and you seem to have such a close bond."

Nikki could barely contain her laughter.

"What's so funny?" Alya asked.

"Me! With Adrien!" Nikki laughed.

"And why is that so funny?" Alya crossed her arms.

Nikki tried to compose herself. "Adrien and I are just close friends. I am definitely not in love with him. You can trust me on that one."

Alya let out a sigh of relief.

"Why did you want to know Alya? You don't like him, do you? I thought you were with Nino." Nikki asked.

"I am with Nino. I was just asking for a friend." Alya replied.

"Yea, ok. Well see you tomorrow Alya."

"Bye."

Nikki waved to Alya and walked back over to Daniel.

"So what did Alya want?" Daniel asked as they started to walk.

"She asked me if I liked Adrien, of all people." Nikki laughed.

"Well?"

"Well what?"

"Do you like him?"

"What!? No! Why would you even think that?!"

"I don't know. It just seemed like you had such a close bond with him..."

"Yea, AS FRIENDS."

Nikki scoffed and pulled out her house key as they approached.

"I'm just saying. He's actually a pretty nice guy." Daniel added.

Nikki shuddered and opened the door to their house.

"And why are you trying to set me up?" Nikki asked as she threw her backpack onto a chair.

"No reason... I just thought he seemed nice." Daniel said shyly.

Nikki flopped onto the couch and turned on the TV. Daniel came and sat down next to her. Nikki shifted slightly to get closer to him.

Why did he want to set her up?

This question practically flooded Nikki's mind for the rest of the night. It was still in her mind as she said goodnight to Daniel and watched him walk down the hall to his own room.

She had to tell him, and soon.

Nikki climbed into bed and stared up at the ceiling. She thought back to when she had first met Daniel, or more accurately, Vixen.

When Nikki had first met Vixen, he had been a nervous wreak and Peacock had to do everything. It wasn't until she had been captured by Miss Fortune that his heroics kicked in. From then on he had continued to open up, and they had become a great team.

The more Nikki got to know him... The more she fell in love with him.

Nikki knew what she had to do.

She rolled over, and fell into a peaceful sleep.
