*Juliette's pov*
"Julie, can we camp out in the woods this weekend?"
"Why would you want to camp out there, Lex?"
"Because we never have before. It'll be fun. Please, Jules?"
"It's dangerous out there. Not happening."
I never told Alexa no. And as she got older, I never really told her what she could and couldn't do, even if being 21 made me the older sister. But Alexa was 16 and there wasn't much that she hadn't already done. Camping in the woods was one of those things. Not that she didn't ask to go constantly.
"You can come with me."
"Alexa, I said no. It's dangerous out there and you aren't going."
"I'm 16."
"And I'm older. I said no."
"Please? Everyone has camped out in the woods."
"Yeah. And remember what happened to mom out there?"
"That was an accident! She was attacked by a bear or something!"
"Exactly! And I won't let the same thing happen to you!"
Alexa finally looked at me.
"That's what you're scared of?"
"It's the only thing I'm scared of."
"You'll be with me, Jules. Please?"
"Fine. We can go."
"Really?"
"Yeah. Tomorrow's Friday so go pack. We'll leave when you get home from school tomorrow."
"Pack? A day early?"
"Go before I change my mind."
"Ok. Ok."
Alexa ran upstairs to get ready while I stayed downstairs thinking of only 1 thing.
"What have I gotten myself into?"
