Chapter 9

*Juliette's POV*

I was going to turn back to go check on my sister but I'd gotten lost.

"Jules?!"

"Drew?"

I walked a little further, looking for Drew. I could hear him calling my name. I just couldn't find them.

"Pretty little thing, aren't you?"

"Nate, don't scare her too much."

"I won't."

I looked around to see 3 guys surrounding me.

"Who are you?"

"You're not going have time to find out if you don't tell me what I want to know. Kellin, grab her."

*Janelle's POV*

Drew and I were out looking for Juliette since it had been several hours.

Drew finally told me to go back to the house.

I knew he'd find her. But would she still be human when he did?

*Juliette's POV*

"Tell us where your friends are and we'll let you go."

"Tell me why you want to know."

"They have something I want."

"I'm not telling you anything."

The tall brunette guy turned back to me.

"Wrong answer, princess. You're going to tell me everything you know."

"You wish. I don't sell out my friends."

I brought my elbow back to hit the quiet one in the ribs and then I brought my leg up to hit the other boy just hard enough go bring him down.

Then I took off running.

"You bitch! Get back here!"

They were running after me. I didn't know if I could outrun them but there was no way I was going to stop running.

At least I thought so. Until I ran into someone.

"Juliette? Where have you been?"

"Drew?"

"Yeah. Who else would I be?"

Drew stood up and pulled me with him.

"Where'd she go?"

"Jules, go back to the house. Now."

"But-"

"Just go. I'll be right behind you."

"Drew-"

"Please just go."

"Fine. But be careful. Janelle will go crazy if anything happens to you."

"I know. I will be. Go."

*Drew's POV*

After Juliette ran off in the direction of the house, I turned back to the direction she'd come from.

"Drew! Have you seen a girl?"

"I've seen more than one girl. Be more specific."

"This particular girl is about..............."

Nate holds his hand up, right below his shoulder.

"This tall. Long dark hair. Really pretty."

"So basically every dark haired girl who's smart enough to not date you."

"That's-"

"I know exactly what girl you're talking about, Nate. She's gone."

"Where'd she go?"

"She went home. She's not like us."

"She's human."

"Yes. But she didn't know about us. So I can't keep her here. Janelle wouldn't like it if I kidnapped some random girl."

"Janelle? She's still with you? Hasn't she gotten tired of you yet?"

"What's that supposed to mean?"

"You know, I don't think we need the human girl anymore. We have Drew now."

"What do you need me for?"

"I have to find some things out."

"Like I'd ever tell you anything."

"You will. Especially if it means saving your pretty little girlfriend."

"You won't touch Janelle."

"And if I do? What the hell are you going to do about it?"

*Juliette's POV*

These guys were threatening Drew. And they were using Janelle to do it.

I didn't stay to see what would happen next.

I ran back to the house.

"Juliette?"

"Kasin, where's Jayk? Or anyone?"

"They're all inside. Why?"

"I have to tell them something. You and the girls might want to know as well. Especially Janelle."
