you sat at the bar stool, playing with the little red straw in your glass. "hey, y/n." you heard a male voice behind you.

you snapped your head around to see one of your best friends, grayson. you gave him a small smile. "hey gray."

"why are you here alone?" he looked at you. tears started welling up in your eyes. "alex, he broke up with me." you nodded.

graysons eyes got dark. he was mad. mad that one of his best friends that had promised not to break his first loves heart, not only broke it but shattered it.

"oh baby, i'm so sorry." he hugged you. you cried a little into grayson's chest. "hey hey, no tears. it's all gonna be okay. i promise."

grayson sat there, admiring you. "blue ain't your color."

you looked at him confused. "what?" you sniffed. "blue. it ain't your color." he repeated himself.

"what do you mean?" you asked.

"blue looks good on the sky, it looks good on that neon buzzin' on the wall, but darling it don't match your eyes." he smiled a bit.

"i came in here to see you sitting here at this bar, having a drink and watching he ice sink all alone. you're here because he didn't treat you right." grayson sighed.

"it's probably not my place but i'm gonna say it anyway. y/n you look like you haven't felt the fire, haven't had any fun in a little while." grayson grabbed your hand.

"come dance with me."

you got up from your seat, grayson leading you to the dance floor of the bar. you placed your hands around his neck and he placed his on your waist.

"like i said, blue looks good on the sky. looks good on that neon buzzin' on the wall but darling, it don't match your eyes." grayson kissed your forehead.

"smile more baby."

you smiled and blushed at his words. "thank you."

he nodded. "blue isn't and never will be your color. don't ever wear blue again, because i don't like it."
