The Four of Us (xv)

"One of the four villagers realized that the tree was glowing.
A blue, spotted bird flew to the top and perched on a branch.
At first, the villagers were confused.
'There are no blue birds in this area, right?'
One of them asked.
'Uh-huh. They went extinct ages ago.' Another said.
They all looked at each other,
hoping to find a clue as to why this was happening.
But none of them knew the reason for this strange phenomenon.
And then, the one who noticed the tree first said.
'Maybe...this is the doing of a god?'"

"A glowing tree?" Shuu interrupted in an interrogative tone.

"Yeah." Jun confirmed.

"Anyways," Kame continued on.

"The other three villagers looked at the one villager in disbelief and doubt.
But at that moment,
the bird-- who had been sitting quietly on the branch-- started to talk.
'For being so earnest and persevering on your search for the god,
this tree will reward you with one wish."

"Ehhh...just one?" Shuu complained.
