How stupid he was, wasn't it obvious that they needed to be stroked? I raised my hand "They have to be stroked." I said.
Hagrid smiled slightly "Five points to Gryffindor. I- I thought they were funny." he said
"Oh tremendously funny. Really witty, giving us books that try to rip our hands off." Draco said.
"Shut up Malfoy." Harry said. Hagrid had lost his thread as he led us to the edge of the forest. I itched to go inside there.
"Goodness this place is going to the dogs. That oaf teaching classes. My father will have a fit when I tell him."Draco said again.
"Shut up Malfoy." Harry repeated.
"Careful Potter there's a dementor behind you-"
"Low. Really low" I told him.
"Stay out of it Black I-" he started but was stopped by what Hagrid had brought. Hippogriffs. I didn't like them much but one of them was very interesting. I just knew that it would be useful in the future. I didn't know how though. When Harry stepped up to the hippogriffs, I felt eyes on me. It was Draco and his Diagon Alley friend.
"Hi, my name is Blaise Zabini." he said stiffly.
"Hello Zabini. I'm Miley, but I guess Draco already told you that. By the way, can you tell this idiot not to insult the hippogriff? It will be embarrassing for all of us to hear him scream like a girl." I said loud enough for Draco to scowl and walk away. Harry was an amazing flyer. I watched him well aware that Zabini was watching me.
"What?" I asked.
"Are you a pure-blood?" he asked finally.
I gave him my death glare and he recoiled."Not that it's your business but yes I am." I said stalking over to the front. All the hippogriffs were occupied now so I just watched everyone. To my surprise the hippogriff called Buckbeak bowed to Draco and he patted it. Seconds later he was on the ground screaming, yeah, just like a girl.
"I'm dying! It's killed me!" Real mature Draco.
I ran to open the gate for Hagrid who was carrying him. Okay, I admit I was worried. But only a bit. A pug faced girl ran after him looking anxious, so it seemed Draco had a little girlfriend. As we walked back to the castle, I knew that Draco had set off a chain of events that would never end. I just knew.
That night I visited uncle Remus.
"They were huge, Harry was the first to try them and let me just say he is a great flier. But Draco didn't listen to my warning and it attacked him, he screamed ever so loudly. Honestly." I told him concluding the epic tale of my day. Uncle Remus smiled. He looked better today as he told me about his classes. I was wondering if I should visit Draco or not.
"Go Miley, you owe him that much." uncle Remus said when I asked him. Yes, I owed him that much.
He was sleeping when I entered the hospital wing."Goodnight Draco." I whispered leaving.
"Daphne?" he asked. So he was not asleep.
"No, it's Miley. I thought you were asleep." I said.
"I thought you were Pansy. She was becoming a little too much. But why are you visiting me?" he asked. Because I was worried.
"You used to visit me." I said. He was silent remembering the past. "So, how are you?" I asked and he smirked.
"Milking it for all it's worth.''
He didn't reappear in class until we were in Potions, days later. Which by the way was my worst and best subject. He entered as though he were some hero.
"Settle down." said Snape. As he had said Draco milked it big time. He had Harry and Ron do his work for him. I was working on my Potion because despite my attitude, I was really great in the subject. My Potion had turned the correct colour, acid green while Neville's was orange.
"Tell me boy, does anything penetrate that thick skull of yours?" Snape said and Neville trembled.
"I could help him sir." said Hermione who was almost done.
"I don't remember asking you to show off." he said and I muttered under my breath.
''Greasy haired git.'' but he must have heard me.
''Ten points from Gryffindor. Miss Black learn to watch that dirty mouth of yours.'' Snape hated me as much as, if not more than, Harry. Harry seemed to find this comforting. I glared at Snape but stopped when I heard,
"Did you hear? Sirius Black's been sighted.'' Seamus Finnigan was saying.
"Where?" Harry asked.
"Not far from here.'' he answered. Draco glanced at me. So my dad was close. He was here to kill Harry and possibly to find me. I hoped they caught him. I hoped they didn't. I hoped there was still hope for him.
At the end of the class, Snape tested Neville's potion on his toad and it worked.''Five points from Gryffindor. I told you not to help him Miss Granger.'' he said.
''You should be awarding her points then. But of course...if it's Gryffindor...'' I spat at him. His nostrils flared.
''You grew up with poison. A week's detentions ought to be enough antidote.''
Snape really hated me. I would have to ask my uncle why that was so.
