I held my medal close to me as we entered the small bar. The sun was starting to set and the cold air started to raise goosebumps onto my skin. "Come on Kayla," I groaned. George stood next to me, not minding that his sister was taking so long. She purchased a large canned beer before shoving me outside. "Damn you, just wait fatty," she exclaimed before popping the drink open. She sipped slowly and ushered both I and George to the parking lot. "Give it here," George held out his palm towards Kayla. She passed it to him and ran over to the passenger seat.
"You want some Evan?" He asked. I shook my head and got into the back seat. Closing the door, I lift up a cardboard box. Peeking inside, I let the small puppy out. "Oh my goodness," I gushed. I ruffled him behind the ears and by the tummy. "Aye, be careful with that thing in my car," George said. "I will, don't worry," I replied, hugging the puppy close. Resting the mutt onto my lap, I looked out the window. Kayla proceeded to turn on the radio; Closer by The Chainsmokers ft. Halsey boomed from the speakers.
It had been a year since the world has announced that moon had gone missing. Of course, the world had freaked out. Various scientists and engineers teamed up to build a"new moon"; people protested against it, but the plan would continue.
There wasn't even a single star in the sky. The pollution over the years had gotten worse (especially with trying to build a new moon). Only street lights lit our way back home. "Evan, your sure your parents are letting you stay over?" George looked in the rear-view mirror. "Yeah bro," I mumbled, stroking the puppy.
Once we arrived at their house, I greeted Mr. and Mrs. Onan, then ran up the stairs into George's and Kayla's room. "Come eat Evan!" I heard George yell from below. I entered the dining room and sat in between the two siblings. After saying a short prayer, we all dug in.

After endless amounts of laughs and giggles, George and Kayla fell asleep. The clock read 2.07, the glowing red light emitting in the room. My neck had started to hurt and my head felt as if an alien was going to take it to space. After 30 minutes of trying to sleep, I gave up. A bright light shown through the window. 'Why haven't I noticed that before?' I slowly got up from the mattress, stepping over the small puppy and stalked over to the window. Pulling down the blinds, I squinted my eyes due to the strange white light that glimmered at the corner of the Onan's gates. I rubbed my eyes deciding to check it out from the lower level since I wasn't going to sleep anytime soon. Once I stepped into the living room, I ran to the window, desperate to see if it was still there. Pulling the curtains back, I was met with a young woman, who sat in the middle of the road. She was hunched over, face buried in her hands. 'Should I go check it out?' I pondered. My heart thumped wildly in my chest, a string drawing me towards her. After many debates, I quietly opened the door and made my way towards her. 'She seems nice...'
~ 'She wept like the sky. Hair like velvet, it was golden and bright, almost blinding. She sat in the middle of the road, her white dress flared out behind her. Her head turned slightly, enough to meet my eyes with her never ending tears. A soft cry sounded from her throat and she muttered something the human ear could not hear.' ~
