Twenty-first letters! Y letters.. Like the w letters, there is no consonant for y, but unlike the w letters, there is no vowel for it either. It's even simpler!! You know all vowels (with the exception of ㅡ and ㅣ) have a small stick that varies in position? Well, to make a y- sound, just double the stick. For example, if I wanted to say "Pretty!" or "Yepeuda!" I would take the ㅔ in Ye and double the stick. So ㅖ! You would be left with 예프다! 아 ah goes from 아 to 야. The most common honorific (simply adding 요 at the end of verbs) is made this way.

Because ㅡ and ㅣ have no small sticks on them to begin with, there is no such thing as Yeu or Yi in Korean.
