Hello again! you're continuing the story?! Oh my God, I love you! Sorry if the plot's a bit confusing at first. Anyway, STORY TIME!
The silent majority of the world were the people that surrounded us, the people that we took upon ourselves to protect. My name is Astericka, or Aster, and my best friend is Talesin. Both of us along with the six other rebellious knights of Ja'Nui were the ones that were protecting them and they were holding the rebellion.
In the beginning, the eight of us were the best knights in the kingdom, serving under someone that we thought was a good king, a good leader. But as history dictates, one of two things can happen to someone that has that much power: they either die really early in their reign or they turn into something else.
That was what happened to Ky'Rein. He turned into someone that we hoped we would never see again, someone that everyone soon wanted dead.
Or at least, that was what most people wanted, others thought that going along with his ways was the best chance that they had for survival. So that's what they did and they were the ones that weren't being hunted right now.
Ah, good times. Good times, man, those were the best.
The other people that were silently rebelling were the people that we were evacuating from the ancient city of Bar'En Rin, a city that had been abandoned for several years before the people that were being hunted took up residence in it, calling it home.
We rebelled against Ky'Rein and that turned out pretty bad for us. We lost our reputations, taking Everadus pretty hard (he used his reputation the most out of all of us and he LOVED it when he could do stuff like that) and we not only lost our homes but we lost all the money that we needed just to survive. We couldn't afford the repairs that we needed for our armor so most of it was sold off to pay for our new way of life.
Leaving us, all eight of us, with the bare essentials to survive in a world like this.
It wasn't going that great for us until the leader of the rebellion, a man that goes by the name Dai'Sarin, came to us. He had heard of what we had done and asked if he could hire us to defend them.
That was the job that we needed so we took it, having a new home, a new reputation and money enough for new weapons and a steady stream of food and new armor.
And by we, I mean I did. I took the job and the others followed me because they didn't want to live in a cave.
I am the leader of the knights and we were sent out on missions to carry out the rebellion and usually, they didn't go as horribly as this one went. The only reason that this one went horribly was because that they had people that were waiting for me to show us, watching every entry and look-out point that surrounded the valley.
I was lucky that I made it to the main road without screaming for help.
I was lucky that Tale was still there, waiting for me. I've been lucky a lot in my life, haven't I?
