The weather had been perfect in the past few days, except today. Rain pattered down hard on me as I sprinted my way through the forest. Towers of green faded past me the faster I went. My adrenaline was pumping through my body, deep down through my veins like it was a parasite and I was the host. I was alive. I was free.
Thunder clapped overhead and I knew I was running out of time to get back to base. Why I was given a mission so far away was beyond me. I never quite understood what was going through Leader's head when he sent me on these missions. Maybe it was the fact that I could get the job done quick, painless and with little interference from a third party. All I knew was that Leader had a strong fondness for the person I grew up to be. I was the best -aside from Leader and Konan- at what I did. I was strong, fast, able. I was everything a hunter, no, a killer was meant to be.
I dropped from the trees when I reached the entrance to the hideout. Scanning the surrounding area for any spy's or unwanted company I then followed up by releasing the concealing jutsu and entering the hideout. I was soaked to the bone and I trailed water down the long corridor.
"I'm back." I announced bored to the others.
"Welcome back!" Those already assembled greeted.
"Oi sweetheart, don't trail water in the house, un."
"Well get me a damn towel then, idiot." I growled and shook the loose water from my ears, hair and tail.
"Don't be so rude, Natsuki." I looked up to the redhead and caught the towel he threw to me.
"I can't help it, Sasori. They're all a bunch of idiots!" I turned the volume of my voice up at the last part so everyone else could hear me.
"What did you fucking say!" The silver haired man said.
I walked over to the room of lounging males and plopped down on the couch in between Deidara and Hidan.
"You heard me. Now move over, you're fat ass is taking up all the room." I said and pushed Hidan's shoulder. The later smirked and scooted over a bit before draping an arm over the back of the couch behind me. I rolled my eyes and began to towel dry my long blonde hair. I glanced at the mirror hanging on the wall and my eyes met with the eyes of my reflection.
I was so much different than I was three years ago when I first join the organization of S-classed criminals; Akatsuki. My once short purple hair was now long and flowing down to my waist and dyed blonde. My once rich blue eyes were now a piercing liquid gold. My ears and tail were grey like they always were, except now they were bigger and my ears were adorned with metal rings. Two in my right and one in my left. My body was much more sculpted than it was in the past thanks to the plentiful amount of training and missions I have been exposed to. My abs were visible and well defined. In my naval sat a black piercing with the Akastuki's red cloud on it. My clan's symbol of a black paw print in a small red ring was inked permanently onto my right hip. I was no longer Natsuki of Konoha. Now I was Natsuki of the Akatsuki, an S-ranked rouge ninja.
"So, sweetheart. How was the mission, un?" Deidara called back my attention.
"So so. The poor bastard wouldn't give up as easily as the others before him had. I got a little bit more playtime, but in the end he couldn't handle my idea of 'fun'." I smirked at the memory of killing the man.
"Brutal as ever, aren't you love?" Hidan grinned.
I smiled at the two boys as an answer.
"Did you get the reward money, Little Wolf?" I flickered my eyes to the masked man.
"Here." I tsked and threw Kakuzu the small brown sac of money from the job. Kakuzu caught it in one hand and walked off to the bases treasury. That money crazed psycho.
