"Natsu-chan, what took you so long?~" An overly cheerful masked man ran up and glomped me in a hug. "Tobi was lonely~"
I gently patted the boy on the head, "Sorry for making you wait, Tobi. Good job today."
"You too, Natsu-chan! For your first time you did good." Tobi sung.
I released him from my grip and made my way to my room. I heard Tobi paddling behind me and sighed.
"Tobi, why are you following me?" I called out to him.
Knowing he was discovered following me he ran up to walk beside me.
"Where are you going, Natsu-chan?" Tobi answered with another question.
"To my room."
"Why? Can Tobi come too?" I glanced over to see him looking up at me with his head cocked to the side. Cute!
"So I can be alone, and no you can't come. It's rude to ask to enter a lady's room, you know." I scolded.
"Aww. But Tobi is bored and likes being with Natsu-chan!~"
I groaned, "Sorry Tobi. But I kinda want to be by myself for a while."
I reached my room and was about to leave Tobi in the hallway when his next remark halted my movements.
"You're concerned about Sasori-senpai and Deidara-senpai, right Natsu-chan?" I noticed the drop in Tobi's usually cheery pitch. His voice no longer seemed child-like, instead he came across like a different person.
I released my grip on the doorknob and turned to face the masked man.
"I'm right, arn't I?" I feel like he's taunting me. "Natsu-chan, what will you do if those two don't return to you? Will you cry? Scream? Or maybe you'll go on a rampage!"
I narrowed my eyes and curled back my lips, reveling my elongated fangs. "Watch it, Tobi. You don't know what you're talking about."
My voice was like ice - sharp and chilling to the bone. "They'll come back, they promised they would."
"Ah~ is that what you think? Get real, Natsuki. Promises are meant to be broken. They'll die fighting those leaf ninja, especially your precious Sasori--"
He never got to finish his sentence before I had him pinned by the neck against the wall. My face was scrunched together in furry. My eyes black and gold and fangs bared. "You don't know what the fuck you're on about! Sasori isn't going to die and neither is that blonde idiot Deidara. Now I suggest you take that back and apologize before my hand slips and breaks your neck!"
I added more pressure on the slim structure of his neck for emphasis. We stared each other down, my deep growls the only audible sonance in the silence of the hallway.
Finally Tobi spoke, "Alright. I apologize for what I said, it was out of line."
"Damn fucking right it was." I snapped and pulled my hand away from his neck like he was suddenly on fire. Without another word, I left the masked man standing alone in the hallway and retreated to the sanctuary of my room, slamming the door behind me in the process.
My legs gave out underneath me and I collapsed to the ground. My back gently rested against the cool wood of my bedroom door. My head started to pound and with every passing minute the more it intensified. I brought my shaky hands up to cradle my head and tried to even out my breathing through small whimpers.
'Deidara... Sasori... please come home...'
