"Sasuke..." His name left my lips as a breath. He had aged and grown into his body nicely over the last three years. His raven black hair was cut in its usual style - his bangs, however, a little longer than I remember. By his side stood a man around the same age as us, possibly a new companion.
My fingers twitched as he stared at me nonchalantly. Of course he didn't recognize me, my appearance, unlike his, was completely different. Even my blue eyes which he once said he adored were altered.
"Of all the places of course it would be here that I would see you again." I chuckled at the irony of it all. I mean, this was the place we both fell for each other.
"Sorry, I think you have me confused for someone else." His tone was cold, a contrast to how it was when we last spoke.
"I'm not surprised you don't remember me." I glanced down at my own body. The exposed skin on my toned stomach pierced and inked and my Akatsuki cloak fluttering in the breeze around my shoulders.
I looked back up at him with a straighter face and a harder composure. My ears twitched catching his attention. I saw his eyes widen a fraction before the darted down to my tail swaying limply behind my legs.
Recognition registered on his face as his eyes met mine, his left brow twitching.
"You left the village too, Natsuki." The words coming out more like a statement rather than a question. He must have picked up on my cloak and lack of a Konoha headband.
I chuckled to myself, "Took you longer than Naruto to recognize me."
My heart clenched painfully at my own words.
"Why?' His voice hitched. Hearing the sound himself he quickly regained his composure. "You know what? Never mind, it's of no concern to me."
My blood began to boil and the shock of seeing him again wore off. I pulled back my lips in a snarl, my finger tips itching as my claws grew out.
I growled, "I shouldn't be surprised. You always thought more about yourself rather than others, even back then."
Sasuke's eye twitched at the remark, his eyes bore into mine.
"Yo Sasuke, who's the chick?" His companion questioned him with a raised brow. The man was lean in build and smelt subtly of sulfide. His white hair was cropped at his shoulders and I didn't miss the two rows of sharp teeth when he grinned.
"She's no one, just a lone wolf." He said dryly.
I gritted my teeth together and pinned my ears back flat against my head. His words shouldn't bother me but they stung. I was angry at him and the blank, indifferent look he was giving me. And I was angry at myself for being so affected by his words. My body grew hot and the next thing I know I'm charging at the ravenette with fangs bared.
Sasuke dodged a swipe from my claws and drew his sword. I reached for my own sword at my waist and released my chakra into the weapon. Wind coiled around the blade, sharpening it so much it could cut through steel like hot butter.
I swung my sword aiming for the ravenette's neck. Using the hilt of his weapon he slapped mine away and sent a downward strike in my direction. I recovered quickly and blocked the blow. Sasuke found an opening and swept my legs out from under me. His speed astounded me. I knew he was fast back then but that was nothing compared to him now.
I landed flat on my back with a grunt and only just managed to block another blow. Sasuke pressed all of his weight down against the swords. I was at a disadvantage where I was. My eyes widened when sparks of electricity licked at Sasuke's blade, the small smirk on his lips told me I was in trouble.
