Mark let out a huff; turning onto his side as he stared at his boyfriend who laid next to him in the darkness of the room.
It was currently two in the morning, and Mark couldn't fall asleep. So he just laid in the dark, staring at Jackson.
After a minute or so, Jackson stirred a bit in his sleep before Mark saw him sit up.
"Did I wake you?" He whispered softly. Jackson shook his head.
"No," he chuckled. "I woke up on my own. Why are you awake?"
"I can't sleep." Mark answered quietly.
Jackson nodded, scooting closer and wrapping his arms around the younger's waist. "Well, come here."
Mark sighed in content; he was happy, safe, warm when he was in Jackson's arms. And he liked those feelings.
----
The following evening, Mark decided to hang out with Youngjae since he really needed to get out of the house.
"Mark," Youngjae spoke, bringing Mark from his thoughts. "Are you okay?"
Mark nodded and smiled at his friend. "Yeah," he answered. "Just fine."
Youngjae stared at him in disbelief but nodded anyway, turning his attention back to the TV.
"So..." Youngjae spoke, once again brining Mark out of his thoughts. "College is gonna start in a couple months."
Mark let out a groan, hitting Youngjae's arm. "Don't remind me."
Youngjae laughed, rolling his eyes. "Admit it, you're excited about college."
"Honestly," Mark sighed. "Yeah, I am."
"I knew it," Youngjae giggled.
----
Mark sat on the bathroom floors, knees pressed to his chest as he cried.
He was panicking- and he ha no idea why. Nothing bad had happened. He had no reason to be panicking- but he was.
"Jack," he spoke quietly, shakily holding onto his phone.
"Mark- it's 3am, why are you crying?" Jackson's voice instantly sounded worried when he picked up the phone.
Mark laughed weakly, playing with the zipper on his jacket. "Really bad nightmare," he lied.
"Awe my poor baby. Do you want me to come over?"
"Please.." Mark's voice cracked a little as he looked around the bathroom.
"I'll be there in fifteen," was all Jackson said before he hung up the phone.
----
Jackson made a face as Mark's finger jabbed into his cheek.
"Stop that."
Mark pouted. "Why though?"
"Because I said so," Jackson said, gently slapping Mark's hand away from his face.
"You're no fun," Mark told him, his eyebrows furrowed into a pout.
"But you love me, anyways."
"Oh get over yourself," Mark huffed. "The only person I love is my mom."
Jackson dramatically put a hand over his heart, gasping in shock. "How dare you!" He exclaimed.
Mark rolled his eyes, a giggle escaping his lips as Jackson pinned him onto the bed.
"I can't believe you've lied to me for so long," Jackson said, hurt flashing through his eyes.
Mark smiled. "Awe," he cooed, pitching his cheeks. "My boyfriend is so cute!"
Jackson scrunched up his nose and pulled away, rolling his eyes. "I'm not cute."
"You're right," Mark agreed. "You're not. You're a manly man."
Jackson rolled his eyes. "I know that was sarcasm."
"That was the point," Mark giggled, kissing him on the cheek.
Jackson pushed him away as he pouted.
"Awe," Mark cooed again. Jackson simply rolled his eyes once again and very gently smacked Mark's cheek.
"Ow, baby, that hurt!"
"Oh please," Jackson huffed. "That was the most gentle I've ever slapped somebody."
"Still hurt."
"I'm sure it did."
"It did! It hurt!"
"You're such a baby."
"But I'm your baby." Mark giggled, shooting a wink in Jackson's direction.
Jackson pushed Mark away. "Get out."
"Gladly. See you next year."
"Kay. Bye."
"Bye."
