I was always considered the nerd at school. I always had my nose in a book, had good grades, and was considered a goody-goody.
I had never truly had a crush before, until I met Thomas.
Thomas was, well, I guess you could say one if the "bad boys." He would never pay attention in class, was super popular, and every single girl had a crush on him.
But there was something about him that made my heart melt every time I looked at him.
Maybe it was his golden hair or his deep chocolate eyes.
Or maybe it was the fact that he was British.
Anyway, my head kept telling me that I would never have a chance with him, but my heart was saying otherwise.
Thomas' POV
I only had one class with Kim, and it was the one class I was failing.
I could never pay attention because she always looked so beautiful. Everything about her just captivated me.
But, I knew that she was way out of my league. She was super smart and probably wasn't interested in someone like me.
Normally in this situation I would just walk right up to her and ask her out, just like I had done with every other girl I had dated before. But she was different.
The way I felt about her was different from any other girl I've met. And plus, she made me nervous.
I knew that if I asked her out, it would have to be something special, something sweet and creative.
I had been planning this for a while, and I think I had it all figured out. She went to the library after school every day, and I noticed that she had been reading The Fault in Our Stars.
I did some digging, and found out that that was her favorite book. So after school, I went to the store and bought some flowers and went to the library.
Kim's POV
I was sitting in the library, reading my favorite book The Fault in Our Stars for like the eleventh time. I came here everyday after school because I absolutely loved to read.
As I was reading, I couldn't help but think of Thomas.
Stop it Kim, I said to myself. He would never like someone like you
I was starting to pack my things to leave, when I heard someone clear there throat behind me.
It was Thomas.
"Oh, uh hi," I said, surprised to see him. I noticed he was holding a bouquet of flowers. Probably here for a date or something.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
He looked nervous, but he took a deep breath and let it out.
"Kim, I know I don't really know you that well, but everything about you makes me happy and I think you are the most beautiful girl I have ever laid eyes on."
He cleared his throat again and paused, as if thinking about what to say next.
"I'm in love with you, and I'm not in the business of denying myself the simple pleasure of saying true things. I'm in love with you, and I know that love is just a shout into the void, and that oblivion is inevitable, and that we're all doomed and that there will come a day when all our labor has been returned to dust, and I know the sun will swallow the only earth we'll ever have, and I am in love with you."
That was a direct quote from my favorite book.
He awkwardly handed me the flowers and I took them.
I smiled.
When he saw that he smiled too.
I grabbed his hand. "I love you too,"
