This day is really nothing out of the ordinary. People think it's about showing more love. Showering someone with gifts, flowers, chocolate, or whatever fits your fancy. It shouldn't be that way. In fact, every other day should be treated like today. Don't stop giving. Don't stop loving. Do special things for that special someone out of the blue. Do it when they least expect it. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying don't do anything today, but rather don't stop treating your significant other any less special than they are being treated today. If they really did love you, they would appreciate every little thing. Nothing would go unnoticed. Take for example, "Honey, on my way back home I saw this daisy and I thought of you. Here you go, sorry I couldn't afford a dozen roses." The fact that you thought of me today is all that matters. Or how about, "Sweetheart, I baked you a chocolate cake, but it crumbled apart and isn't perfect. I should have just bought you those Ferrero Rochers." Honestly, the effort you put into handmaking something for me is better than anything someone can grab off a shelf with little to no effort. Even if you are single on this day. Show kindness to others. Don't sulk, but be happy that you are alive to witness life. Spread the joy and love everyday and make sure to appreciate all the little things. Happy Valentine's Day.
