Three days.
It has been three days and Nick and Delilah haven't said a word to each other. Delilah was unsure how to react, she spent the entire night fumbling with her hands and wondering what Nick's confession could mean for them.
His silence only comfirmed that he remembered the night's events all too well and Delilah didn't know whether to be relieved or not.
Finally, today is the day she decides they had both had enough time to think. She had ran over his whispered words countless of times and still the words seemed jumbled in her brain. Like verses of another language, from another world.
Another lifetime.
~

It's not that Nick doesn't know what to say. The hardest thing had already been said. He just didn't want to push Delilah, he knew that sometimes she took a while to make sense of things.
He was waiting.
~

"Nick?"
His heart skips a beat at the famillair voice and he wonders if he looks as flustered as he feels.
"Can we talk?"
She pulls nervously at the hem of her shirt and resists the urge to shut her eyes tight and disappear.
Bravery is a skill she's still practicing.
"...Y-yeah, sure."
~

"Y-you said-" "About what I-"
"You go first."
"What I'm trying to say is, I know I caught you off guard the other night. But I'm not a big believer of the right time and place so...I just...I meant what I said."
"Timing is everything, Nick Popper."
"Perhaps."
"....."
"So in another lifetime, would you be mine?"
He's saying too much. He knows. But how many days does he have to tell her how much he loves her? Will he ever get the timing right?
"Nick...."
"I'm sorry."
He is.
"Don't be."
She puts an affectionate hand on his shoulder-he hopes she fails to notice that the way her slender fingers brush agasinst his neck send a shiver down his spine. Almost in sync with her downcast eyes, Delilah's hand slides down to his chest-feels his heart thud against her palm.
God, he wants to pull her closer.
"What if I told you that no one could love another person.....as much as I love you?"
He's surprised at the confident words that roll off his tongue. Like a truth that had been said so many times, just not so loudly.
"Oh Nick."
That's when they kiss. It's impossible to decide who kisses who. In a moment of utter confusion and complete bliss, something bursts in these two hearts.
A minute of bravery.
Their lips mold into one, she feels his heartbeat quicken under her fingers and smiles into the sweet kiss.
There's no going back, no backspacing, the simple action renders all of the logical thiking Delilah has been doing pointless.
They pull away, breathless. Neither says a word.
Oh, how the eyes speak.
"You have...very soft lips," Delilah finally mumbles out.
"Hey there Delilah," -So terribly out of tune.
"Shut up," There's a gentle blush creeping up her cheeks.
She's made out with an idiot.
Nick lets out a soft chuckles, "Love is everything, Delilah," he doesn't break eye contact, "This moment is everything, everything."
~

"Delilah, I can promise you, by the time we get through, the world will never ever be the same and you're to blame." 🎶
